Going to start one myself. I still have enough brain cells to post journals on my grows currently.. just lazy lol I have one in week 8 flower and 4 clones in a 2x2 in week 3 of flower. I kept them short and flowered quick to work with my tents. I have 1 plant in a 2x4 and wouldn't have been able to fit another in there if I wanted to.
Goodluck with your grow btw

I'd say use what you have and add white lights. Your blurples are better suited for veg than flower. Don't rush into buying, there are lot's of lights to consider. Many are satisfied with Meijiu lights from alibaba, but don't expect great warranty service. DIY strip lights are very popular here, check out some of the builds.
The Link you posted of DIY builds of led strip lights the page works but most of the builds are blank and i can not fetch data it says :(
Anyother sites or something similar you know of ?

You may find some useful resources here
Thanks....while you're here i haven't done enough research into these type of lights and set ups.
my thoughts were, you need multiple spectrum ?
what would these strips put out spectrum wise and also would they supply me with my 1000+ umols evenly if i design and incorporate enough of them ?

To me it seems asif i'd be just using T5's flouresent bulbs

Are you using 1 room/tent for both veg and flower?
Yes and i have now decided i want to purchase the 8ft x 8ft tent now.
But because i spent money fixing them and theyve served me well id like to also use mars hydro 900w x 4 panels in the mix like the pic shows.
but oviously imagine its 2.4m x 2.4m (8ft x 8ft)

or would you suggest parting with them and use diy strips all around ?

My only concern is.

am i getting all spectrum for grow and bloom
blue green red far red IR ?

If you have the budget I'd suggest getting an additional 4x4 to use for veg and leave the 8x8 for flower.
It's late here so I'll try to deal with the spectrum issues tomorrow.

Please reply to my image post bro i sketched up and tell me if this is actually do-able ?
And also ask why you say implement more white light.
My knowledge is more mixed spectrum in good retion to one-another shouwld be good.
what spectrum will these strip lights put out in the specrum band ?
will they be more close to hps rather than metal halides high blues

WOULD THIS GET ME 1000+ UMOLS if i keep the lights close as i can to the canopy ?

I don't see why it wouldn't be do-able.
Modern white lights are much more efficient for one thing. Blurples are old, inefficient tech, mars discontinued them.
Strips are available in 3000k, 3500k, 4000k, 5000k and possibly other color temperatures depending on the brand. 3000k is closer to hps and 5000k is more like MH. Some grow specific strips are available with UV, red, far red and IR.
Don't know about the umols, how much are the mars lights?

Yeah the big brand named logos/links aren't working, just scroll down. Lot's of good info here on RIU, search for strips or strip build.

I'm set on a RDWC system that is not going to move and swapping lights would be a pain to, but ill have a think of that actually as i know i'd benefit from a veg + flower room seperate hmmm......Let's hope i can find the space :eyesmoke:

Mars hydro ii 900w umol's obviously vary with distance but their chart shows 15-18inch to be sweet spot but still not even coverage.
I suspect its take from an open space thats why inside a tent maybe the outside umol/par reading would increase with reflection.

The image is 15inch from canopy

either way I'm now in a pickle with my Co2 :wall:
luckily havent yet purchased but was so set on 20% better yields
