thats a big issue man. i have a 400w and if i didnt vent it the temp would be well over 100. if u had some sort of way to put cool air on the light then u would be ok but without a window i dont see how. i grow in my closet with a 400w and also have no windows.but the only way im able to do so is because im using a air hood with a 440cfm inline fan. the only thing i can think of if u dont want to buy a hood/cooltube and fan combo is to buy a portable ac, it just might work

cheers man, i could possibly duct cooler fresh air from a window thru the wall.
ive currently got a standing fan outside of the tent blowing in thru the vents.
i only got 3 plants tho, so dunno if its worth it.
how much yield u getting from ur setup?

Its worth it man. if done right u can yield anywhere up to a pound. this is my first run with the 400w and i only have the 1 plant going and shes an auto flower so i will aim low...about 4oz anything less will be disappointing. my next plant will be a photoperiod blackjack strain so im hoping for at least 6oz from that.

if your gonna run ducting from your window u might want to get a 190cfm inline fan. they are about 65 dollars. But during the hot summer months you'll prob have the same problem. unless you put an ac in your window for the hot months and run ducting from that. As far as just regular house fans...no matter how many u have in there u wont cool your cab...trust me. you gotta find a way to take the hot air out of the cab and replace it with fresh cool air.

I have a similar fan 160 cfm pulling air through my carbon filter ducted to my hood and then out to the attack and it works pretty good. My temps run between 75-83....I just use the the pressure created from that fan in the room to pull the cool fresh air in. In the summer when temps get up to 85-90 then I have issues unless my AC in on all the time. So I plan and take a few months off during the hottest part of summer. My closet is 2'x5'x8' tall

Bigger is better for airflow and for noise. I use a 6" and love it. I bought a Tjerlund 6" attached to a Variac autotransformer (to adjust speed)

Tjerlund Fan

Variac Autotransformer

Since I am using the 6" on a 2x2x4 room I have it turned down and my ballast is louder than the fan.

Damn, I need to upgrade to 6" fan my 4" is to noisy....but my light is a sun system 2 and hood only allows for a 4" ducting...I assume it wouldn't be an issue rigging something up to adjust for that.

My recomendation is to get a 6" unless your super cramped for space. even canfan makes a 6" that is smaller. Its too hard to control the noise of a 4". get a 6" with a speed controller.

They sell a 6in to 4in duct reducer that will do the trick, also don't forget the Variac or some other dimmer. I run mine at about 40% power. If I crank it up all the way I cannot open the door to my closet because of the negative pressure, it is also not quiet at full power.
