4 23 watt cfl grow 1 plant

Hey guys, i have visited this site many times looking for answers. Is 4 23 watt cfl 6500k good to veg a plant and possibly flower? I have 2 lamps with a y splitter that will allow me to have 4 bulbs at the moment. Im thinking i might buy 1 more lamp and splitter to add 2 more bulbs for flowering. i am aware flowering is using 2700k bulbs. and i will space the lights out evenly over plant as it grows. What do you think i would yield from such a set up. also starting soil is a compost mixed with topsoil and perlite. i will be using miracle grow nutrients when needed around day 21 .

4 23watt cfls will work. There someone on here that got 43 grams off 2 23watt cfls. If u could i would try to get 3 2700k's and 1 6500k and just use that the whole time. Its hard to say how much u will yield without knowing the strain. I'd say at the least close to an oz if u do mostly everything right, again all depends on the stain. I am using mg nutes also, bloom booster 15 30 15, i way under fert'ed, now am using 1/2 tsp per gallon every water and the plants are loving it.

Thank highlife i have a question though. is 6500k not optimal for the vegatative growth as 2700k is optimal for flowering. i heard you could mix the spectrum but with a 2-1 ratio for the stage. for example vegatative 2 6500k 1 2700k

Yea, because the higher K lights illuminate with more of a whitish-blue, witch helps the plants stem to grow, making a larger plant before the flowering process starts equaling in more flower growth. Same with the 2700k(yellowish light) it will promote more flower growth. People say its always good to mix the light spectrum so the plant can get as much sustenance as possible. I have been using mostly 2700k's my whole grow due to my strain and trying to prevent vertical growth as much as i can. As for u with the white widow i would use mostly 5000K+ for the first 3 weeks or so (veg). Then switch it up to mostly 2700k's for the rest of the grow.(12/12 cycle)

Use at least one 6500k bulb for flowering, this will promote extra density, and save you some space.
