After a few months of hanging around forums, reading up, I purchased a grow tent, pots and we'll most of the things you need and i'm very excited about this whole ordeal.

My setup is as following (metric numbers fyi)

Tent 90x90x160 (cm)
400W MH/HPS Magnetic Ballast
280m3 Fan (TT125UN) with a built in fan controller and temperature setting.
380m3 cabable Carbon Filter
And a bit of insulated ducting!

I've planted 3 seeds I ordered from Royal Queen Seeds, their Easy Bud auto strain - since it's my first time grow, I chose an easy path!

Anyways, all 3 seeds have been germinated (no pics) and one of them has sprouted above the rockwool and has turned the leaves towards the light. One other has the stem showing towards the surface so i'm guessing it's close to breaking the surface also.

I've got quite a low RH which makes me worried that I need to purchase a humidifier later on, i'm down on basically 20% RH at max. The air in my apartment is quite dry and even though i've created my own attraption for holding and dissipating water (looks like a Sail) it still isn't making an improvement.

Anyways. I'll get some more updates, probably later today seeing as they grow so fast i'm hoping the second one will pop through the surface today!

Stay tuned :)

No issues with them what so ever, got a tracking number and the packaging was stealthy and all in all well packaged (paid extra) would recommend them :)

Alright so day 2 or well, day 3 for one seed so i'll settle at day 2.5 for them all.

Nothing much has happened, I can notice that the fan leaves of the first plan getting larger, which is good, the stem seems to have increased in length also - stretching cant really be an issue right now but i'll be monitoring for sure.

Another seed, well the second one in my book, is trying to play catch up. It broke through the top layer yesterday evening and the fan leaves are visible but not really counted as leaves yet. Making good progress, will be fun to compare the colours and sizes when they both grow!

The third seed hasnt shown much progress but I don't expect it to either, I picked it out of the rockwool, removed the seed casings and put it back in a bigger hole that I made in the same rockwool cube. The raproot was warped and the leaves were opened under the top layer for some reason. Doubt I saved it with my action but since I probably stressed the life out of it, i'll give it time. If 2 make it out of 3 i'm very happy either way. I won't be growing in rockwool after this though!

Here are some pics of the babies

Good news!!

Got some mail when I got home, my "textile" pots are here, 3x 1 gallon versions and 3x 5 gallon versions. I'm not really sure if I should start the seedlings out in the 1 gallon and work them up towards 5 or just plant them in 5 gallons and keep them there untill harvest.

In other news, the plants have grown quite a lot since this morning. Amazing! Also, seed number three that I thought was gonna die has grown larger leaves :D Seems like it's gonna survive after all, but probably be quite behind on the others.

Never the less, the grow moves on!

Hey mix with them being autos I would put straight in the 5 gallon pots. Autos general do not like being transplanted.
Everything is looking good so far. I am in my first auto grow as well I'm at about day 40.
Yeah, i've kinda come to that conclusion as well since you basically don't do anything to these plants other than feed and water, no topping etc. Will be a bit of a challenge not to overwater then etc since the plant will be very small in relation to the pot it's going to be planted in.

You'll put them in soil after their germinated then? Good luck to you as well! :)

You did? All i've heard that you should never top autos :P and since this is my first grow, i'm quite scared to try haha! I'll be sure to stop by your journal! :)

Update! :)

They seem to be growing quite fast now, bigger improvements each day it seems. One is bigger than the rest but I guess it will always be like that. Yesterday I moved the growtent close to a window, which I keep open during the light hours of the grow cycle, which helps keep the temps down to around 24-25C which is good.

Still can't seem to raise my RH% though, it's stuck at 15-20% but now more than that. I've hung a microfiber cloth in 2 strings close to my passive air intake and even though I have my extraction fan (pulling air) at max RPM it doesn't move that cloth. So, i'm I caught in between a really weak negative pressure in the tent?

Anyways, here are some pics of the plants as of now :)

I started mine in the rock wool also and then put them in to the 2 gallon buckets. I would try and turn the exhaust fan off or down and see if that helps with humidity. have you put a humidifier in the tent?

Since I have a cooltube setup I'm worried that the bulb will overheat and the temperature will get to high.

No humidifier as of yet, might need to get one though :/ they're quite "expensive" the ones you can set a humidity level that it needs to keep.

Some awesome news! :)

The bigger seedlings of my grow has grown a root that sticks about 1.5 mm outside the bottom of the rockwool cube! :D So tomorrow, i'm probably going to plant it into soil for the first time!

I'm going to put it into a 5 gallon fabric pot, any advice on what % should be soil and what % should be perlite? Perhaps 80% soil and 20% perlite is what I had in mind but I don't know anything about if there's anything wrong with too much perlite :P

Pictures will be up later! :)

what kind of soil are you using? 80 20 should be good or 70 30. I think the more perlite the better to make a more airy substrate. I would let the experiencedogs guys chime in on this one.

It's a "country" only soil. Don't want to reveal it since it'll make apparent my location :) But it's a good soil that a lot of people here are using! But yeah, around 80/20 or 70/30 sounds about right. I'm using fabric pots as well so that should help a bit with getting air into the soil!

Just got home with a humidifier with an built-in hydrostat and i've set it to cold air @ 55%RH which is making wonders with my temperature as well. I've got the exhaust fan at a low setting and my temps are stable at around 25.5C with a RH% of 55!
