it says you can use a propane tank on the calculator

Propane tanks are used with C02 BURNERS, Not c02 tanks.

c02 Burners burn propane or natural gas to create c02.

You can rent tanks of pure c02 for old "mig welders" that is what I would use, burners are for larger scale grows.

I dont think anyone will fill your propane tank with c02, probably some sort of hazard.

Yes easily. You get faster growth, your crop finishes earlier, you get fatter buds, and your plants can handle a wider range of temps. (when dosing it will get warmer from exhaust being off)

so where can i find a electric regulator and timer for that much?(EDIT, the one next to the Co2 calculator on that web site...do u reccommend?) saw pic in the first post on this page...that's the set-up? and I can get a brand new 20lb bottle for $100...so please help?! wanna do it right! :wall:

All the DIY c02 systems are only good for 2-3 plants. Even then its just an "added bonus" and you really cant calculate any real results from it.

I havent started dosing yet because Im getting my c02 bottle next week. I wasn't expecting things to come along so fast.

All the DIY c02 is alright, but lets break down the real costs.

I can rent a 20lb C02 tank for $70/year for the tank. I could buy one for a few hundred, but then I would be responsible for maintaining and replacing the tank. $70CDN a year to rent is great!

If I own the tank, or if I already paid the 1 year rental, Its only $35 CDN for 20lbs of pure c02.

The only other thing you need is a one time cost, $200 for an electric regulator and timer and your good to grow.

So total cost per year for c02, after the upfront cost is about $100 a year.

And thats not $100 for yeast, buckets, sugar, and all the other crap you will spend money on (TAPE) But thats $100 for pure c02 that can be injected and calculated to IDEAL conditions, no risk of mold, no replacing dirty buckets, just refill your tank once every few months.

Best part about a bottle, you can actually SEE the results.....Then you can smoke them :bigjoint:

Just google it, check local hydro shops, shop around. All you need is an electric regulator and any standard electric timer. Rent or buy a bottle and fill it with pure c02. Then use the c02 calculator to determine how long to saturate.

The pic in the first post is a 5lb c02 bottle with an electric regulator.

i mean how long did you veg your 8 mothers to get 80 clones
2 months growth is a long time for veg, by then you'd get a good amount of stems with multiple nodes up, chop em off and clone. Its a good idea to go with BCTrippin's way. You could veg some mothers, push it into veg for a little clone and then flower all together. (Not sure if BCTrippin is also flowering mothers but I plan on doing that for my next grow)

I dont flower mothers, I actually throw away a lot of big, healthy plants. I just keep a few mothers, veg them for 6 weeks, take clones.

When I took the 80 I had 10 plants to choose from, so I had plenty of extra cuttings. I veg under a 250w HPS, so I get lots of big strong harvestable shoots.

I never flower mothers, waste of space and time IMO. I would rather do a full crop with clones that are the same age, that way everything matures at the same rate.
