300w Dual spectrum CFL?

That all depends on if it's 300 'true watts' or 300 'equivalent watts'. It didn't say in the Ebay listing. Anybody know?

yes it is 300 watts, not an equivelent, i'd say it would definitely take the place of the HID. i've found out that 80 watts of cfl will produce a little better than 5000 lumens. a 300w cfl will have about 19000 lumens, you could grow 4 plants to a foot tall with one. with 3 you could get some good results. now for a reflector, if your growing box is painted flat white, wrapped with panda film or mylar, you wouldn't need one. what type of room are you planning to grow, do you have any pics?

Damn, those are some kick-ass CFL's. I might look into them myself, for summertime. I plan on cutting way back, so maybe those will work good, and really help with the heat problem. Hmm....two plants finishing every 4 weeks would be perfect for the summer months.

Im in a medium budbox, its totally white inside so very reflective.
Id go for a sunmate reflector but you can only fit one bulb in, so i figured hang 3 of em?
I only wanna grow 2/3 plants as the medium budbox is only 75cm wide

What kind of heat does that thing put out. I have a few 45s and a 55 and it wont do that again. Its just to hot for the enclosure i am using.

I have been using Envirolites for a while. I have three of them (1x250w blue and 2x250w red). However, they only draw about 195w of power each with a power factor of 91%, so I am only getting about 180w of light out of each of them (measured on power meter). Just something to bear in mind.

ive been using enviros for a couple of years.my space at the mo is about 30 inches high, 30 deep and 24 inches wide. im using a 4 inch inline fan to pull air out and a nine inch fan across the tops.just bought a 250 hps and wish id bought a 400.no heat issues.will only use enviros for veg now.......
