My friend has this plant it's been mainlined has 8 tops. It's about 3 weeks into flower there's a bunch of dime sized flowers on it. All of a sudden 2 days ago I noticed it had a couple pistils looking brown/red. Then last night I noticed a few more were changing. What do you all think of this? Keep flowering her for 5 more weeks or what? I don't have a scope or anything to check trichomes but I am gonna try and pick one up tonight.

Also it's in coco I have a ph and ec meter so I keep everything pretty legit. The plant itself looks really healthy is still growing at a pretty decent rate.

Well with the info you provided id say you have a healthy crop. The browning or some would say amber or red is perfectly normal. It is maturing. With you not having scopes n other tools you have to go by what you see. Give it some more time. Allow more to turn that amber color. Id say wait till you got about 80% amber before you harvest. Do you have any pictures? What strain is it? Are you a cfl grower?if so you may need an additional week on top of whatever.

I have it under a 175 hps bulb. It's just one plant under that it was kind of close I raised the light. I guess my concern is more or less can I allow this to keep flowering for a couple more weeks ? why would it mature so quick buds are only dime sized.

I'd say keep flowering, to reveg now would be a major undertaking for a noob.

A light that was too close might have burned some tops.

My rule of thumb. I put my hand directly under the light until it gets hot...then I lower my hand till it stop being hot, that's where the tops of your plant should be.

Pics always help.

Good luck.
