2nd grow, Nirvana Bubblelicious closet scrog

Just keep going through the motions and waiting now. Took a few pics of how the Fim played out, I couldn't be much more impressed with that.

I also recieved some nice looking seeds from somebodys harvest elsewhere. Apparently a male slipped into the works and made a few seeds here and there. First time I have seen seeds in this bud.

I started germing two seeds for now. I figure I can grow them a month with my bubblelicious ladies and then flower them elsewhere in a smaller grow cab I made out of a speakerbox. They would finish ALOT quicker than my current ladies with playing with the screen, waiting for them to reach the screen, etc...

Added a piece of dryer ducting that I had laying around. Screened both ends and taped them up. Hopefully getting some new air in the closet will help the early mourning hours when i'm asleep and the lights click on with the closet door shut.

Added a little bit of Bio Grow to the foliar spray bottle. I like to foliar spray on the days that I am not scheduled to water. The next watering I will have to start incorporating small amounts of Bio Bloom & Top Max along with the steady 1 ml/l of Bio Grow that I have been using.

Other than temps being a bit higher than I would like, everything is going great. No signs of stress or problems on my ladies that I can spot.

So I have been contemplating names for these two ladies so I can stop naming the files Side/Arial 1 & 2. When I started my 1st grow I thought I should name them like hurricanes. Go A-Z with all the ladies I grow.

Last lady was A = Anastasia.

So far I have settled on B = Bubbles for the larger figured lady in the white pot. Looks like a bubbly plant to me and shes of bubblelicious origin. Made sense to me...

I am thinking maybe C = Cheyenne for the smaller more conservative lady in the orangish/red pot. I have just always kinda liked this name, Nastive American roots and any girl I have ever met by the name has been beautiful.

Thanks man! I'm trying to do it right this time. New to the scrog thing though so we will see how that pans out lol. I really wanna be able to pull 5-6 oz off of this go around. The way I smoke 6 oz. would last me about 6 months of comfortable smoking & 2 harvests a year would keep me perpetually high :)

I feel that is a reasonable number if I can't manage to get a HPS by the time flowering gets here and I have to flower with CFL's again. My last grow produced 2.25 oz. off of just one untrained midd bagseed. I was new to growing and made some pretty good mistakes through the grow process. I also didn't have sufficient lighting, quality soil, or nutrients for a good while.

Wow these ladies have bushed out like crazy! Been continuing the same nute/watering schedule and letting them do their thing for now.

I also just got a little seedling that was was started from seed from a batch of bud called "Deathstar" that was supposed to have orignated from portland. My friend just tossed it in the dirt and apparently it was in a great spot because it has been growing great so far.

I entrusted my roomate with this little seedling. He is also growing two fem bubblelicious ladies but I think only one is going to survive. Something crazy happened and the stem seperated from the roots in mid growth. I guess maybe he overwatered and the cheap MG soil he was using at the time compacted and pinched it off...Should he axe it? It's not dying, but it's not growing either...

heyy man. lookin VERY nice! Keep up the good work!! Love all the pics and updates man.. you can tell yo uput alotta time into ur pics and updates! I am thr same way when it comes to mine. I had growin Nirvana's White Widow and vegged for only 3 weeks.. and pulled 3.15 ounces dry from her!! and I am starting up another grow now. Another White Widow and a Mystery Seed I got from them.

But.. I am planning on ordering some Bubblicious seeds next week.. and so Im deff subscribing to ur thread. Wanna see how urs turn out.. since probably right when yours finish.. I will be puting mine into flowering. =) +Rep to man. Keep it up!

Thanks for the kind words man. I thought more people would be commenting but I guess not. What kind of light setup did you have on your white widow? That's an impressive yeild if it was CFL's. I Probably won't be able to get an HPS by the time I get to flowering due to monetary situations but who knows maybe I will get lucky. My original goal was to get 2 quarter pound plants. I don't know if that will be quite possible with CFL's but one can hope!

So, there have been complications lately... Nothing too alarming, my ladies just told me that I was treating them badly. The only thing I have been doing different lately is a foliar spray with a light nute concentration once a day when they are not scheduled to be watered. Apparently the girls would prefer I not do that.

Bubbles took it in the vag, one leaf got really thrashed.
Cheyenne did pretty well with it, just a couple of small rust colored spots.
However, new growth is coming in great and it was only a small amount of damage.

Lesson learned: Eff nute foliar feeds! Either stick to just water or don't foliar feed at all.

The seed I planted popped and is now a little seedling. It has been growing at a really slow pace though...I'll just keep an eye on it and see what happens with that I guess.

Yeaaa, I was thinking that when I saw your grow.. i was like wow... nobody is writing anythin.. =/.. that sucks.. im sorry man. I can tell you put a lot of work into ur pics and updates.. I am the same way.. and know how it is... adn it sucks when nobody writes shit.. =/ I'll deff be stoppin by regularly tho.. adn i'll tell some people on my journal to check out your journal as well.. I'll just post ur link in my journal.. cuz I already told them Im gonna be growin sum bubbleicious. soo im sure they'll wanna see it. =)

Just a bunch of CFL's basically. I had 330 watts for my last grow. I had 9 CFL's all different wattage (between 23-40) (a mixture between daylight and soft white as well) and 1 20 watt floro tube. This grow I added 2 more 40 watt CFL's. sooo now Im at 410.

And yeaaa, well After seeng how much IO yielded off my plant.. it just goes to show u dont need an HPS to get a nice yiel. =) all my buds were nice and solid too! except for the lil baby ones on the bottom.. they were "airy".. but hte rest were solid nugs. =)

If you vegg them long enough..I think u can deff pull a QP off 1 plant. I was at 3.15 ounces.. I foget the exact amount of grams.. but it was like 80 sumthin.. soo I wasnt too far away from reachin 4 ounces... this White Widow plant vegged for like 1 1/2 weeks more than my last one.. soo who knows.. this one could maybe put out a QP dry? its alot bigger than my last one.. adn is FIM'ed as well.

Yeaaaa, Im not big on foliar feeding eihter.. =/ just never seemed to have success with that.

When you get like 4-5 weeks into flowering.. you should start using sum Molasses! I did that my last grow.. adn my plant seemed to LOVE it!! I guess it helps break down nute buildup.. and also.. the sugars help the buds somehow.. and they say it can increase your yield by UP TO 20%!! idk for sure.. but I did it during the alst 2 weeks of flowering... and she seemed to like it alot... just a thought/tip for ya! Keep up the good work man!

you know I have heard alot about using molasses durring flowering. Didn't try it last time because I kept the cost of the grow as low as I could but after hearing how it treated your lady I will be investing in it this time.

As far as the ongoing CFL VS. HPS epic flame war...
If your broke = CFL If you have cash = HPS, seems about that simple to me

I haven't been dissapointed at all with CFLs durring this grow BUT temps get pretty high when you start approaching 8-10 of them like you and me. Today it's been pretty hot and temps have stayed around 88-90F, not my comfort zone.

I flowered with CFLs last time and it worked fine, just not GREAT. Like you said, the buds at the bottom were "airy" but the ones from mid-top were pretty heavy. I actually had to tie up my top bud with a shoestring because it would sagg to one side from being heavy.

I'm hoping the SCROG method will pay off in the end and get the QP per plant yeild that I am after. I have seen some impressive SCROG grows, couple that with a heavy yeilding plant (bubblelicious) and I think I may be able to get close/achieve my goal.

When I get to flowering I am deffinately going to invest in Advanced Nutrients "Big Bud," seems that everybody swears by it and says it will almost double your yield. I am using organic stuff now because I like the idea and taste of organic bud, but I have no problems using Big Bud if it doubles my yield lol.

That's effin crazy that you pulled that much off of a single untrained Widow with 3 weeks veg time! I was planning on 8 weeks veg, 8-10 weeks flower for my ladies this go around. I am not really sure what the SCROG method is going to do as far as effecting the veg time, I am deffinately filling the screen before I flip the lights to 12/12 flowering though! So however long it takes I suppose.

It seems like training will make a HUGE difference in yield though. I guess I fim'd a little earlier than most people like to but I haven't tried it before and saw it as a better option than topping. Eagerness got the best of me and I couldn't be any happier lol. It's crazy how they just start branching off.

yeaaa, its deff worth the $4. thats all i paid for my jar.. and u just add 1 tablespoon per gallon of water every other watering.

yeaaa, thats how I feel too.. but i think even if I had money. I would get maybe a 400 watt HPS.. and still keep some CFL's along the sides as well.

me neither. =) I LOVE my CFL's.. but yeaa, you are right man. lol. my temps were up there today too.. cuz it was pretty hott outside. =/ gonna have to find a solution to that fast! mine were around 84ish.. =/

yea i had to do the same thing.. tie up some of the bigger/heavier buds. I FIM'ed this plant. and got 2 big tops.. and one baby one in the middle.. but I used a twisty tie and kinda pulled the 2 tops closer together. cuz they were spreading too far apart.

I'm hoping the SCROG method will pay off in the end and get the QP per plant yeild that I am after. I have seen some impressive SCROG grows, couple that with a heavy yeilding plant (bubblelicious) and I think I may be able to get close/achieve my goal.

Yeaa my friend has a scrog grow going.. and his is coming out GREAT!! he's actually about 1-2 weeks away from harvest. i will post his link at the bottom of this reply so u can check it out. he's doing it with an Aurora Indica.

I've heard alot of good things about that too actually.. and have considered buying some... i can imagin waht my yield would be if it actually doubled my yield!! lol. that woulda meant my last plant woulda yielded 6.30 ounces! lol. that would be nice. =)

Yeaaa, I agree! lol. I couldnt believe I yielded that much from her.. i was expecting an ounce... that was it. lol. and it was 3 weeks from seed. She just grew really really fast.. I thought it was JUST that plant.... but this WW is doing even better.. maybe its just this batch of seeds I got or sumthing..

but yeaa at 8 weeks veg.. you should have a nice fuckin yield!! just remember tho.. shes still gonna grow a lot once u switch to 12-12.. sooo u may wanna leave a little bit of the screen open. cuz the 2 weeks from when u switch to 12-12.. they grow a lot! soo just try to be prepared for that.

o yea. training will DEFF help ur yield! if u have the time/patience. its deff worth it! idk wen do ppl usually FIM? i did it at about 4 weeks i think? and yeaa, it seemed better/safer than topping to me too. I only got 2 tops.. well... 2 1/2. lol. I got 2 main ones.. adn then this lil baby one in the middle of them.. i think u can see it in the pics I have on y thread.

I had that same bubblelicious pheno that drooped easily. Drove me up a wall. It will do that throughout the grow. Ended up too much N (too much nutes) This pheno is an extremely light feeder. 25% less nutes. Regardless, she will look like shit but I pulled 3 OZ off mine so it's worth growing out .

yeah, I had one bubblelicious that was all droopy from about day 50 and it pissed me off so I put it in the corner to give my better looking plants more room to grow

yeah Cheyenne has seemed to be pretty picky. I'm gonna skip nutes for a bit and just give it water to flush it out a bit. I think it won't be a problem again.

I can't blame it on pheno yet, it was a bad idea to foliar feed with any nute concentration.... Bubbles (in the white pot) really didn't droop much even after the foliar feed disaster.

The way I look at it, there is plenty of time to recover and most of this leaf material will be trimed when it reaches the screen. It was all fan leaves that were damaged as well, no top sites.

I'm liking how bushy they are even at only a few inches tall. I always hate seeing seeds start because they always tend to be more on the sparse side for me for the first couple of weeks. I'll have to try out FIM on a couple of my next seeds...of course compared to mine yours looked more bushy than mine start even before you cut them. I'm assuming its because you are using high quality seeds which I never do. I just grow bag seeds unless someone I know has a clone or two that they are about to murder when I'm ready to start another plant, but in any case I think ill be a lot more happy with my next seeds if I FIM them early like you did here. Thanks for the idea, and get those babies perked back up! =^D

Wow what a difference a day can make guys! Skipped the nutes this time around and just watered them. Low and behold, they have both perked up and look great. I also changed my grow area around to help with temps a little. I figured hot air rises so the closest I can get to the floor the better. I've got two little seeldling going now up top, supposed to be dank, worth the extra bud if one's female since i'm growing now anyway.
