Dear Friends
Here is the CFL design for anyone who is interested. I always wanted to have a setup of CFL, a VARIABLE one(pic 1),(pic 2)
. Using between 23 watt minimum to about 300 maximum.
Using different cfl range of wave ( cool and warm white cfl of your choice ).
That does not burn the plants and you can make it in one trip to Home Depot!!( I love home depot as much as I hate it)
That is not an expensive setup(relatively), and works almost for years. And is not heavy. If you are interested then here it is:
Requirements: you can find every thing you need in home depot.(Pic 3)
White board (one side is white) is 15 dollar or so for a Huge board that you can make 3 setup out of it.
Almost every home depot has the facility to cut the boards (for free). So don’t waste your time cutting them home.
You can make this setup in almost any size but if you wana follow this particular design here is the size of boards you need.
54 by 43 Cm board : one piece
12 by 42.5 cm board : two pieces
12 by 53.5 Cm board: two pieces
The hole saw :you can buy for less than 10 dollar but it Has to be 1 ¼ inches. In this size when you screw the cfl bulb on its hole it will be fixed firmly to the setup.
Please buy a strong Duct tape since your plants and your safety depends on using the best duct tape or equal tapes.
When U are using duct tape. Leave a small (about ¼ inch) between the boards to allow them to bend when you want to make the semi box shape.
Make sure you make more holes than the bulbs you are planning to use .these holes act like a ventilation hole to keep the setup cool(at least 4 extra holes).
Please be generous in using duct tape.
The cfls used in this setup are 42 watt and 23 watt.
Please consider this setup a dangerous one and treat it like every other electric setup with cautious.
Using higher than 42 watt bulbs or using more than 300 watt cfl makes this setup extremely hot and unsafe.
I will be more than happy to address any issues and happier to have any suggestions from you guys

Wish you a happy and successful growth experience

Nice workmanship! I like the design. For my next grow I'll try this, but will probably have modify your version to scale it down for a RubberMaid.

You should wire a fan to so it blows across the cfl's to cool them. Or just an out take fan to suck the heat out. Either one.

I got one kinda like that and it's true a fan would be a good idea once you get more bulbs in there it's gonna get warm i can feel like a wave of heat comeing down off them if i don't have a fan on them

2x 100w 2700k equilvalant to 300w i think thats what your calling 300w, 2x43 watt 6500k , 2x26 watt 2700k

Thank you for your encouraging words.its nice to hear.I will be glad to see somebody else uses this design.
You can downscale it To fit your grow space.

A fan definitely completes the design but surprisingly enough for me , I have had no heat problem with this design providing That You keep an constant mild air circulation around but Fan will make it defineitely better.

Fan will make it a better and safer design .

This design can handle 9 bulbs at the same time(10 or 23 or 30 or42 watt max).with mixing these bulbs achieving 300 watt is not difficult.

thanks for your comment.

I just built one myself. I'm using 27w cfls 7 daylights and 2 soft whites. I wired a fan blowing across them and a fan sucking out the air on the other side. Stays nice and cool. Thanks for the design!!

Cool man.
what kind of Fan did you use?

I strongly suggest Hole saw>the white board is too delicate for paddle bits>I tried before.
