Dear Friends
Here is the CFL design for anyone who is interested. I always wanted to have a setup of CFL, a VARIABLE one(pic 1),(pic 2)
. Using between 23 watt minimum to about 300 maximum.
Using different cfl range of wave ( cool and warm white cfl of your choice ).
That does not burn the plants and you can make it in one trip to Home Depot!!( I love home depot as much as I hate it)
That is not an expensive setup(relatively), and works almost for years. And is not heavy. If you are interested then here it is:
Requirements: you can find every thing you need in home depot.(Pic 3)
White board (one side is white) is 15 dollar or so for a Huge board that you can make 3 setup out of it.
Almost every home depot has the facility to cut the boards (for free). So dont waste your time cutting them home.
You can make this setup in almost any size but if you wana follow this particular design here is the size of boards you need.
54 by 43 Cm board : one piece
12 by 42.5 cm board : two pieces
12 by 53.5 Cm board: two pieces
The hole saw :you can buy for less than 10 dollar but it Has to be 1 ¼ inches. In this size when you screw the cfl bulb on its hole it will be fixed firmly to the setup.
Please buy a strong Duct tape since your plants and your safety depends on using the best duct tape or equal tapes.
When U are using duct tape. Leave a small (about ¼ inch) between the boards to allow them to bend when you want to make the semi box shape.
Make sure you make more holes than the bulbs you are planning to use .these holes act like a ventilation hole to keep the setup cool(at least 4 extra holes).
Please be generous in using duct tape.
The cfls used in this setup are 42 watt and 23 watt.
Please consider this setup a dangerous one and treat it like every other electric setup with cautious.
Using higher than 42 watt bulbs or using more than 300 watt cfl makes this setup extremely hot and unsafe.
I will be more than happy to address any issues and happier to have any suggestions from you guys
Wish you a happy and successful growth experience
