It must be nice to have weather that permits you to grow outdoors.

What's with the chopped aloe? Wouldn't it be better off blended it something?
Maybe.....i have a big aloe plant with a bunch of new growth. I had to take off some of the growth, so I just hacked it up over the garden real quick.

Stuff in the outdoor is looking okay. It's been hot and windy this week, several days over 90F, but the plants are taking it.

Just sent out samples on the next batch of seedlings. I should know genders by this weekend.

Plants in the raised bed are growing nicely. They have some signs of pest damage, but it's minimal. I've been applying preventative sprays weekly, weather permitting..

The second round of seedlings turned out 12 females. I kept the 2 I liked best, put them in the raised bed, and gifted away the others. DW male will be the pollen plant.

The BDxTOG (left above) has really big fan leaves. It's growing fast, but the internodal spacing is the longest of all the plants.

I took snips from the tops of the original 5 in the bed, 2 mothers that needed refreshing, and the male.

Plants are growing nicely after all the rain last week. The wind pushed some of them over, so i'll have to put stakes to support them. I intend to rig up something to start training them out.

The cuttings are all showing roots. Here are a couple of interesting standouts...

One has roots popping out well above the rockwool.

This one is throwing out roots very aggressively. It's got way more roots than any of the others, and they were all taken at the same time.

That thing may get up and start walking around! Crazy genetics.

That one with the crazy roots is MLK4x(Z3x(WCxBM)) from the 2021 outdoor. The MLK4 mom is a very strong plant...stands up to bad conditions. Her cuttings have always been the fastest to root.

36N......90% last chance of frost is first week of May. I should have everything ready to sex and cull out all but one male around then. I'll put the choicest females in the ground and keep the male veging until ready to make pollen. I'll gift out the rest of the females to local friends.
I'm at the same latitude as you. How are you determining the gender of your plants?
