Ok, my Nemisis, The Pumpkin Cat, has been crapping in my Superbud/Putang 35 gal pot. Numerous times. So, my wife had this idea for this, well, more of a deterrent. The trap is the camera I have set up... I used cups of water, plants look a little droopy, as I just dumped water on them. Stay...

Now I remember why I stopped using hay... took a minute to get thru the fog. Hay attracts slugs like nothing else. At least, in my area.
Maybe not in a fabric pot since raised off the ground? But u do remember a hay/slug issue.

Its early still but we’ll see. Had some get wet so wouldn’t give it to my rabbits so figured I’d give it a go. Honestly liking what i see under it though definitely helps keeping soil moist lots of life under it too. Shitty bale had a ton of alfalfa dust so that got amended too

You're a lot like me, I'm constantly inspecting my gardens and have inspected a couple others. One I found a borer infestation that required serious patch surgery. I fished out dozens and dozens of the little wigglers from their sawdust covered holes at the crook if the branch. Injected BT in all the holes and saved the whole crop. If it had gone another week, all could have been lost.
Gotta stay vigilant.

So, looking back at all the great advice andd knowledge I've pretty much ignored, I'm already starting to stress.
There are so many Rot resistant strains that perform well in New England, buuuutttt instead I, much like the raccoon, went for the bright shiny buttons.
I expect the Waziri and possibly the Superbud might do well. Sunny Days, Cheesequake, Creme de la Creme, what was I thinking.
On the other hand, I think I'd credit myself for at least ordering from the outdoor drop down menu.
Storm last night laid down one of The Two Towers. Each year I put two plants in my Gigunda 50 gal pot. This year it's Superbud and Putang. The Putang looked like. It was mangled, which led me to a barefoot, coffee splopping, trot thru the rain soaked yard to further inspect. Luckily, seems the stalk was flexible enough. Whether animal or weather, Putang #3 has become a twisted thing, which, I can only sit back and admire.
One if my other plants is doing a Frankenstein kind if thing. Also, I pinched two plants, maybe accidentally ended one.
Here's some photos if my little tale. Some pinched tops, some weirdness, may look a little messy in this plot, but hey, I'll clean it up. Soon it'll be a veritable forest of the best I have.

Im guilty as well man. Im like a foolish kid when i buy seeds. Look At the pretty pics and yummy sounding names but never really research best strains for my particular situation. Its where i need the most improvement in my game for outdoors. Very good point and self observation

So the Shaman is turned into this tall lanky, very much male looking plant. It's not kicking out side shoots like it should. Hoping that it simply turns into a tree. Any of these pics look like a male?

If one looks back at the 2021 Mass Outdoor thread, there's a lot of good advice on strains that worked and are extremely mold resistant. KC Brains come to mind, as does LSD, certain blueberry, Grand Daddy Purple and many others. Northern Lights, and Mass Medical, the list goes on, all of which, *except for possibly the Waziri,
I do not have in my garden.
Observations: need to dial it in.
I'm designing a plot for next year to find the strongest thc and Rot resistant, and the following year will attempt creation of my own strain. Gonna have to put some males down by the river, guerilla style. Too bad you can't order male pollen like you could seeds. But that's what makes it fun I guess.

*Allegedly- every plant counts so when planting 30 seedlings to come up with the 12 #legal amounts, one is in gross violation.
Some might say, legal schmegal, and that's why I spread my plots thru various zip codes. And although in the past, I may have been over a plant or two , I try and keep my home garden up to spec, simply because in this small town, the cops know I grow. In fact, I once had a starting raised bed at the end of my walkway, start of driveway. An ambulance had to come, and the cops, instead of flipping out, just asked me to move the plants into my regular garden. They know I am on compliance, re: locked fenced in, out of view of public, 12 plants.
*Allegedly if you have 12 plants, and two seedlings, your whole crop can be confiscated.
And that, is to be avoided at all costs.

Yes but I certainly wouldn't want a pollinating male in my garden, for any reason. Grow it for away, collect the pollen and hand pollinate.

Ya im not calling you out on anything just though you could legally have up to twelve with six in flower. I meant if your gonna breed couldn’t you just make sure only 5 were fem or in flower
