Serious 6 + red hot cookies been in flower all July.. I know the S6 is a September finisher but the RHC is from sweetseeds that specializes in autos (I think this is one of their only fems) but im not so convinced the auto trait isnt there. Would have been nice to get them a little bigger but things will be more manageable for me I feel like

I need help. Plants are growing and will be touching walls and ceiling soon. I have been snapping limbs and bending them.

Should I just cut the top third of the entire canopy?
Or should I try using trellis netting to smush them down?

I fear they will stretch way too much and overgrow the hoop house.

Thank you for your advice and suggestions.
Try running some trellis net from purlin to purlin to scrog the top of the plants with ... let the tops grow up through the net about 6-8" then pinch and bend the tops back under the net towards the center (highest point) ... keep doing that until about early september and you should be able to pull it off ... you may need to cut some of the lower side limbs back that are growing into the lower side walls, but you won't be losing much by doing that.

I ran into your same problem last year and quickly started running out of height ... I had to run the trellis net after they had grown past that point and it was a pain in the ass ... if you get it up there now it'll be a lot easier ... this year I started focusing on keeping the height under control from the beginning of the season and so far, so good ... but I expect most of the plants to reach the upper scrog netting by september

here I am this year: (today)

Awesome! I ordered some trellis netting.

What's your ceiling height? My peak is 8 feet.

Branches and leaves are touching the walls. I think I'll cut them back a bit or bend them.

My ridge is just shy of 12' and the highest level of trellis netting is a bit higher than 8'

Nice job on the drip irrigation... I've been on the fence about adding it, probably will eventually ... but I find I only need to water about once every 7-10 days

I'm wondering if I should give them all a haircut?
I'm not sure how much more they'll stretch.
I suppose another option is to raise the hoop house a bit, but I'd rather not deal with that.

Would love to yield, at minimum, an ounce per square foot.

Ultimately I'll do what I have to do to achieve results. Really counting on a successful finish.

I don't think you need to start chopping them back yet... start by setting up the scrog and keep pinching them back under the net every time they get 6" or so above the net... you'll be surprised how much room you have to spread them out once you get them going horizontal ... keep pinching and bending them over until the buds are getting fuzzy (about week 3ish if you were growing indoor) or about the 1st or 2nd week in september outdoor, that's when they're done stretching for the most part... it's only another 4-6 weeks you'll have to keep fighting them back... you'll always find a branch here or there going in an awkard direction that you could prune out altogether, but I think you'll get better results this way than just chopping them back ... the pinch spots will heal and add support, force lower shoots to stretch up, and in the end increase your yield.

The only other thing i would recommend is leaving a small gap between the scrog nets and don't connect them side to side ... just pull them tight from purlin to purlin ... you'll want a way to slip yourself up there on a step ladder or something so you can work with the tops

Sweet is sweet... loving that symmetry in the girls. Is there a secret? Ah crap, if you tell me it wouldn’t be a secret anymore! Lol This is my 1st year outside and on my deck to boot. I topped them (3) times but they’re still taller than bushy. Been growing indoors for years, never to late to learn and learning I am!
