Id rather have the cold then hot myself as the cold isnt bad until your around the negative 20 or so area. Cinder blocks are cheap last look was like $.85 cents each so under $50 bucks ....Laws not so tolerant for open air smoke events just yet but in a year should be going strong and 4 years should be recreational legal here...Yeah Id skip Florida too can't really deal with that state. lol

Yea lets have a BBQ in -10 temperature in a non medical state. That should bring the crowds in. We could have an igloo building contest! 62degrees is not hot, that's perfect weather.

Here is the asparagus salad recipe for those that wanted it:

Ingredients:

2 bunches asparagus, tough ends trimmed
Bacon aka...meat candy (I use a pound, but you can use less)
1 small red onion, thinly sliced into 1/4 moons

1- 8 oz container feta cheese
1/2 cup good mayonnaise (or extra virgin olive oil if you prefer it a little lighter)
2 tablespoons grainy mustard
1 tablespoon Dijon Mustard
2 teaspoons good aged balsamic vinegar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepperDirections:

1. Slice asparagus spears into three and blanch for 1 to 3 minutes, depending on thickness. Remove immediately to ice bath. I use a salad spinner to remove as much water as possible.
2. In large skillet, cut bacon into 1 inch pieces and fry til crisp. Remove to paper towels to drain.
3. In large bowl bacon, asparagus, red onion, and feta cheese.
4. In small bowl, combine mayonnaise or oil, both mustards, balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper. Mix well. Pour over ingredients in large bowl and toss to combine well.
5. Transfer to plates to serve right away, or cover and refrigerate.

You guy's made the day for me, brother. And I don't mean to slight anyone else, its just that you don't usually get that many veterans together and it doesn't involve a funeral...lol...

Aman to that brother I've buried many and toasted them after. I had to get away from the VFW for awhile too much booze and tears.
I quit drinking a year after I got my card, but now if I'm down at the hall I get a side way look from alot of them cause I'd rather smoke than drink
So that's why I enjoyed talking with them so much, but I really wanted to talk with more.

It was good to see the vets bonding with each other. I know my partners I brought had a great time. I'm sure they'll be there in April, we may need to cross paths before then, we do live near Yosemite!

The West is privately owned, private land, secluded, beautiful, but a bit expensive right. I would love to have a get together there. What do you think about that?

I couple of years ago, we planned to rent a vacation house on the Delta for 420 bbq. I found a couple of nice places on craigslist, but it started getting complicated and beyond my reach to underwrite. Camp Far West is cheap, quick, easy & convenient. Cheap hotels nearby....and it's close enough to me to organize......see you there...

It may be more appropriate to re-classify this as the doublejj BBQ and have it in the toke n talk section, as I dont get the feel at all of it being an riu outdoor growers event. Peace out.
