Just harvested my last three Sour Diesel. Trimmed them up, put them on hangers/etc, and they're drying in the dark as I write this.

The buds were more than done; I'm glad I harvested these Sour Diesel when I did.

The plants looked close to dying, without any leaves to speak of really. Also, temps are back up to the high 80s again for the next few days, so figured I'd saved the Diesel from the heat (not that it would have probably mattered).

What a nice spicy/fuel smell too! It's fresh, but even still it doesn't stink too bad right now. I added a tarp shell (that holds in the smell) inside the closet. Put a fan in there, but I'm gonna be very conservative in how much I use it.

I don't want mold, but I don't want over-dried weed from a fan either.

Well here are some pics of the drying:

IMG_0013.jpgIMG_0014.jpgIMG_0017.jpgIMG_0018.jpgIMG_0009.jpgIMG_0011.jpgIMG_0008.jpg

There's actually a shelf at the very top with weed drying on it, but I couldn't get a decent shot because of the tarp-tent.

I also got a nice little chunk of hash out of the whole deal.

Think I'm gonna try to scurry up some more on the trimmings I have left over.

I also have some video I shot out at the plot, with the last shot of the plants before I took them down. Uploading now, should be done soon.

Sorry, got pretty faded on some Diesel I picked September 10th, 4 weeks ago. :eyesmoke:

The old stuff has aged really well; just wish it could have made it through the cat-onslaught that overtook my plot when I was away on business. Such is life.

If I look back and think of how many rookie and simple mistakes I made, most especially in the high state of mind that I'm in, it's pretty funny. It's been over a decade since I've grown, and in early June I was spinning my wheels with holes that didn't drain. :wall::wall::wall::wall::wall::wall::wall::wall:

Here's a quick summary of this years grow:

- the undrainable holes (the 10 holes I dug in March to grow directly into the ground with a new soil mix in place) suffocated and stunted the early growth of all these plants. Water couldn't drain, from rain or even normal waterings.

- I lost 60% of my early seedlings to deer (no fencing setup at the time, had to buy
more seeds).

- Moved 24 seedlings into buckets, with holes drilled in the bottom for drainage.

- 22 made it, 10 ended up being female.

- Of those, I had to harvest 4 Sour Diesel early due to caterpillar damage.

- Netted a little over 3 ounces of Sour Diesel from the Sept. early harvest.

- Harvested the remaining 3 Sour Diesel that are for sure finished. They're hanging up
to dry now.

- I'll soon harvest the remaining 3 G13/Haze; probably as soon as I can put the Sour
Diesel, that's hanging to dry now, in jars for curing.

Here's the video of the last stand for the Sour Diesel before I cut her down. Also show the G13/Haze plants.

all the hard work FINALLY pays off!! great work man!
Hehe, I hope after it cures it does; thanks!

I just looked at the drying buds this morning, and they've lost a bit of weight. Still feel moist on the outside. The THC that is sparkling on each and every bud really puts a big smile on my face.

Well I pulled the final 3 G13/Haze today. I harvested, brought them home, trimmed them up, and hung them out to dry in my insulated drying closet.

Someone came home and when they walked into the house said:
"Something smells like a skunk or something."

Hahahahaha, oh man, was that ever a close call. In fact, I had to remove the buds that were hanging, and put them in glass jars for the mean time. They only had a few hours to dry before I had to jar them, but jarring them stopped the smell from overpowering the house.

Really had to laugh a lot inside because the Sour Diesel didn't smell anywhere nearly as bad when I brought it inside. This G13/Haze seriously has skunk genetics somewhere.

Anyway, smell aside, the buds looked great, with a purplish hue to the calyxes.
(see video below)

The G13/Haze totals are gonna blow away the Sour Diesel. The buds are just enormous comparably. What's even more ironic is that one of the G13/Haze was deformed and only 1/3 of what it should have grown to (if I hadn't tried to make feminized seeds with it).

The Sour Diesel is also in jars, which they were actually ready for after 2 days of drying. The buds are smaller than buds grown in the ground, and it's dry inside my house, so they lost a lot of water in two days. The buds were still very moist on the inside, slightly crispy on the outside.

Tonight I'll take both strains out, the SD for 30 minutes, the G13/Haze for as many hours as I can.

From here on out, I'll just have to open the jars for 30-40 minutes every few hours or so on the G13/Haze, which is fine, I don't mind. I've got the time; I own my own business.

Anyway, you can't really put a price on security and peace of mind. bongsmilie

I've come all this way, not gonna lose any bud because of mold, so I'll be vigilant with seeing the buds through.

Buds look great today!

Late last night, aired the buds I chopped yesterday for a few hours, put them back into the jars, and then aired them out again for a few hours today. Lotta moisture at the top of the jars. Aired the jars out along with the buds, and put some newspaper in the jar to help absorb moisture (it worked last night...this morning when I removed the paper it was soaked).

I'm gonna put the buds in paper bags tonight (should have done that last night), and maybe that'll help the G13/Haze dry out slowly without stinking up my entire house. Also gonna hang them up again tonight for a few more hours. It's kinda good to go slow like this in the drying process, as I can watch the buds closely for mold, yet they don't dry too fast. The air is really dry (as I've said) here, even more so today. If I'd dried these normally, I might have ran the risk of over-drying.

I'll try and get some more pics up of the buds drying. Super pumped about both strains; both are looking crystally and juicy.

The G13/Haze is just pure awesome. It's supposed to be medical-grade quality nearing 18% THC and very low CBDs. If the smell is any indication of it's strength, I'm in for a wild ride in a several weeks when it finishes curing.

Thats funny. I've had people get in my car and say something about a skunk. LOL Luckily there are a bunch of skunks out here. Not to mention I felt my bag was sealed up pretty good. But when you sit in a smell for a bit you lose the ability to smell that particular scent it seems.

So very true.

I knew there were gonna be problems, because I could sense how overpowering it was before anyone got home. I went outside, closed the door, then walked back into the house to catch the first whiff of air as I came inside.

All I smelled was skunk.

I tried popping popcorn, fanning out the rooms, cooking pasta, etc. and nothing stopped the stink, except for sealing them in the glass jars. I have a pressure cooker that I use when I grow boomers, and it works really well for curing a lotta weed in the short term. Great seal on it.

Well I had the bud in paper bags last night, and that helped in soaking up some moisture. Clipped all the stems, now I have just nuggets on the G13/Haze. Both strains look great still; THC glistening is a common theme with all the buds. All the hairs are nice and amber, with calyxes oozing resin.

Here is the protector of my pepper garden, soaking up that sun:

IMG_0019.jpg

All the bud is sealed in jars now, and each strain has a different timetable of how much air it gets when I open the jars. The Sour Diesel is 2 days ahead of the G13/Haze as I picked the SD first.

I've been smoking some SD I picked on Sept. 10th (caterpillar damage), and it's mid-grade at best. I smoked some cured G13/Haze today, the first G13/Haze I've smoked this year, and I'm realllllllly pleased.

Everything they say about G13/Haze so far rings to be true: up high, clear headed, no burn-out at the end, and it lasts a few hours. Perfect for doing stuff; don't feel lazy at all on this, maybe a little dazed and confused, but really peppy. It had a good burn and decent taste to it too.

I'll be growing a lot more G13/Haze next year, no matter what. :weed: :hump:

Next to the face of the scared zombie is a concrete rock, with a unique spray paint coloring on the face.

It's a piece of the old Berlin Wall.

I was in Berlin in the early 1990s, and bought it from an authenticated vendor.

Just kind of a random and eclectic mix of intoxicants and history I guess.

Haha, thanks dude-bro. :-)

I found this in the middle of no where one day when I was scouting plot locations. Really dense undergrowth, vines, burs, active insect/animal activity, and then I see this, stuck on a tree branch:

It freaked me out for a second, but I had a big laugh afterwords.

It makes a nice hat rack:

Nice job man! I'm actually a little dissapointed in my final yield but it seems like everyone else did really well.

Did you grow those shrooms? Now that this little project is over for the year I was thinking about trying to grow some mushrooms during the "offseason."
