200$ bucks too spend and torn between led and t5 type

Led or T5?

The only concern is that most T5 fixtures (and regular florescent for that matter) are actually 50 to 52 inches long. So you have to have a little more than 4 feet to use the 4 foot bulb.

I use the visual ratings, not the mathematical ones. A 2000k HPS actually looks like a 4000K MH lamp. I always convert everything to how it looks in MH ratings. That's just an old habit going back 30 years.

I also have a very old pulse start light fixture. The 16,000 lumen bulbs are 30 dollars. I can get 14,400 lumen bulbs for 9 dollars. Sort of a no brainer for me.
Nope. Most horticultural and factory lighting t5 are under 4t fixture and all.

You alternate bulb colors or swap when flower or none of above?
I run horticulture bulbs from htg supply. Agro max.

2-3000k, 2-6400k, 2- pure par, 1-10,000k+uva. The last was a different but I just stuck a 4100k in.

If using standard bulbs a 50/50 mix of 3000 and 6400k is fine.

I prefer mixed spectrum from start to finish.

I miss having flashbacks.

apt-get update && apt-cache search where-the-fuck-is-my-rum

Some of purge strings we used to run to clean out new installs were absurd lol. That's why I love gentoo, compile only what you need and tune it for your hardware ;) It also has much newer kernels and drivers.
You can have mine if you want.

Great advice all around! Yall seem to be a good crowd. Granted you are all stoned but happy and healthy I hope. I have to say a plant that can grow naturaly on almost ever continent (exempt Antarctica!) And can be cultivated so easily is nothing short of a God send. Not trying to get uber religious but I see these plants and what they can do and I know that there is a creator! Real talk.

You just haven't been dumb, annoying or asinine enough. If you show any of that, you won't think the site's so happy and stoney. Shit gets seriously vicious and competitive here. Haha.

True I don't enjoy stupid assholes either. Of folks feel like arguing fb or reddit sounds like a better fit for them!
Well, if we didn't argue, it wouldn't lead to progression or diversity, so it serves its purpose here. Some of it can get distracting. Just grow well and be confident that you can recognize and correct issues on your own without panicking. You will be alright.

Hey man, I just got myself a
ViparSpectra 600w reflector series.
Replaced a 400w hps system I was running.
I too was worried about heat, since I live in the desert.
But this light is amazing
Cool to the touch, and the plants love it.
Nugs got so much denser.
I got a 3.5 by 3.5 by 6
It only cost $199 so should be in your budget

No, not the mars/galaxy 300! If you are going that route of LED then look at Viparspectras line. Cost slightly more but 10x better.
What size footprint will you be making?
@Olive Drab Green is the king of Visparspectra far I'm concerned. He is working the 450 model like a champion. Check out his grow blog. I am impressed by this line of LEDs cheap and works well.

Not a COB but next best thing if dollars are tight to start with.

8 bar T5's are cool with the spectral control but lack of IR/UV and changing bulbs keeps me away. The price a good 8 light t5 costs I can step into something better. #IMO
Going to try this one out i have mars 300 ok i guess for $65 but can do better in sure
