so i decided with only 3 plants growing, ill use two computer case fans, the air duct inline fans i think would be too much.

would you guys just say to buy 2 adapters and jerry rig them into the power splitter, or just get a cheap power supply and plug them in that way?

I rigged a $10 power supply to (2) 5 inch PC fans. It runs cool and I can add more fans if I want to.

lol I cant wire stuff to save my life. I actually used a atv battery and hooked it up to a trickle charger to keep the battery charged and runs the fans. Cant shut them off but my room is right next to the furnace so it stays kinda warm anyway. I would like to hear how you wired them to a power source though so it can be shut off with the timers.

Just get a 12v wall wart adapter. Go to radio shack, and ask for one. Make sure it's capable of putting out 12v at 800ma to 1amp. The sales guys will get you one, for about 10$.

Then you can hook your fans up to it. Just get a power bar to split your timed line to this adapter.

One of the two wires from the adapter generally has a white line down it. This is NORMALLY the negative line. Just experiment with it. If you wire it up backwards, it's no big deal, just switch the wires, you havn't done any damage. Cover with electrical tape once you're done, and you're good to go.

a 1a 12v adapter can power up to 2 120mm computer fans with no problem. If you know the wattage of your fans, you can easily power up to 4 of them... But I wouldn't do that unless you're confident with yourself... Your risk a fire ;).

all I did was dug around and found a old power supply w/12 volt output, I thinkit was from a cordless phone,or an old cell phone charger. Make sure your output is not above 12 volt
use this info @ur own risk
