2.5 weeks of growth. Are these plants growing slow?

Planted on 8/25/2016 germinated and sprouted on 8/30/2016

So these plants are about 18 days old.

The pots are 6" pots for reference.

there drooping a bit

I`d say you have some kinda issue

maybe heat or over watering ?
More like under watering them honestly. I let the soil dry very well before watering I have a soil moisture meter I used. I just watered them about 30 mins before that picture.

The ambient temps and canopy temps are 79-82 so I don't think there's a heat issue. Late in the evening for me so possible the plants are starting to go to sleep.

It's more than over watering. There are some spots, and in places the texture looks wrong.
Yeah the soil is MG and it burned the lower leaves on a couple of plants. I haven't fertilized at all. Knowing the soil has it in it. So hoping the plants can get larger so they will be less likely to get burned.

I had a thread on the issue a couple of days ago in the help section.

Before that the plants looked great. It happend a couple days after repotting in MG potting mix.

Couple of tips for you, but first, how many watts is that light?

1) The light is too close for the size the plants are.

2) those pots suck. Pull the bottoms off and use plant saucers. Those pots are designed to hold water in the bottoms. So even a little water sticks around a long time. Especially with plants that small.

3) use the lift method to know when you need to water. After you water them lift them to feel how heavy they are. When they are dry and the leaves just start to wilt a little, pick them up again. This will let you feel the difference between a light/dry pot and a fully saturated pot.

Hope this helps.

Good luck and happy growing.

You say the light is too close? Will that harm the plants? They don't seem to be burning or anything.
