1st Time Grow Raspberry Cough

Hello
This is my 1st grow 2nd attempt, the 1st was in hydro, and that didn't work out so well. I thought that I was up to the challenge and really thought that hydro couldnt be all that hard, nothing that I couldn't figure out. Well it was a humbling experince. That is exactly what brings me to the grow journals, I'm hoping that a couple of experinced growers could give a noob a little guiidance and point him in the right direction through this grow.

Here are the details of my plants:
STRAIN: Raspberry Cough (from seed)
LiP1010139.jpgghts: 1000w mh
Soil: Fox Farm Ocean forest poting soil
Nutes: Fox Farm grow big
Age: 3 weeks
Temps: 72-80
Humidity: 40%

I also have been interested in this strain but the long flowering time put me off a lil. I like your set up and i'll subscribe looking forward to seeing more of these, I like the leaf structure already.

It looks almost like they are underferltilized. Since I use fox farm soil I don't think that's the case as it has plenty of nutes for vegging and my plants are always a lush green in it. I think that you might have a problem with your water ph or possibly overfertilizing. If your giving it the grow big I might back off a little because like I said theirs plenty in the soil to sustain them for the beginning stages.

Thank you,
No they are regular seeds. So sadly half are probably males, and are going to have to go. Yes this is an interesting strain, its week three, day one and they still smell pretty neutral. The other strain that I tried before (royal flush) stunk up my grow room within 2 weeks of sprouting.

Yes I had a ph problem, my ph meter wasn't calibrated and was off by 3.0 I started using the grow big thinking that the soil was depleted of nutrients and ended up getting some leaf burn in the process. Some of the plants are still looking a little yellow eventhough I've been giving them the correct ph water for the last 3 days,

Thanks vairocks,
I'm planning on vegging for another 3 and 1/2 weeks so they are going to get pretty bushy and are going to need to have more room inbetween them pretty soon. But thanks for the tip.

yumm rasberry cough, subscribed! the plants look like they are off to a great start! are you considering topping or using LST to create more main colas? or are u just growing good ol xmas trees (single cola)? keep up the good work :D

Thanks MaryJainLover
This is my 1st grow so I'm just trying to make it to the end, not trying to do anything to advanced untill I get the hang of things.

Fox Farm soil is the shiznit. 1000w mh is the shiznit. I'm at about day 24 and I'm fairly happy so far. I ran 24/0 for three and a half weeks. under the MH. I cut e'm down to 20/4 and put the HPS bulb in this evening. Pinched the tops out of them at day 17 and they are some bushy little mofo's now. Give 'em as much Grow Big as they'll stand. I plan to start flowering at 4 weeks from seed and switch over to FF blooming nutes a couple days after the 12/12 under HPS. Does your ballast/fixture support MH and HPS. Evidently mine does (a digital no-name one for about 100 bucks). Came with the HPS bulb and I just went to Home Depot and bought a MH for a few bucks. I'm a boot too, but I think you're on the right track. Good luck!

Danno48, my 1000w is switchable so I'm planning on swiching to hps when its time to start flowering, Some of them are bushy and others not so much, there are definately some plants in this strain that look more sativa and others that look more indica.
