1st grow, stealth mini fridge lf advice

So this is going to be my first grow and I am looking at doing it in a mini fridge I have lying around.
this is the fridge:http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000260JRG?tag=jaybrewernet4-20&link_code=as3&creativeASIN=B000260JRG&creative=373489&camp=211189

I will probably buy some femanized seeds from nirvana seed shop.
I was probably going to do a soil grow first, since it seems easier and with the small amount of room more efficient.
My questions are really: What type of light should I use, a read alot of people using cfls for small closet grows, what about a 100w HPS? I feel like I can grow 2 plants at a time. Also if the plant is femanized is there any need to transplant the plant or can I just start growing it in a 2l bottle with holes in the bottom for drainage? First few questions.

Thanks for your help.

heyyy man watsup?? looking forward to seeing your grow. ive been wanting to do a grow in a mini fridge.. or something close to it. but as far as your questions go....

If i were you i would go with CFL's.. their a hell of alot cheaper to buy.. AND to run. an HPS would/could be good for a small closet grow.. but i think that heat would be an issue if you had one running in a fridge.. even at only 100 watts. CFL's work great.. im doing a couple grows right now with CFL's.. and ive seen plenty of people grow perfectly good/healthy plants using just CFL's alone. sooo that would be my choice.. and i know you probably know this.. but just in case you dont...

Veg State:
use "Daylight" Bulbs or "Full Spectrum" Bulbs. Daylight ones work a little better since theyre higher in the Blue Spectrum which is what you need for Veg. but Full Spectrum ones will work just fine. The K (kelvin) ratings on them will be
Daylight - 6500K
Full Spectrum - 5000K

Flowering/Budding State: use "Soft White" or "Warm White". and the K ratings for those are...
Soft/Warm White - 2700K (3000K is also ok to use)

Thats about it.. one thing you want to note is to try to stay away from any bulbs in the 3500K-4000K (known as "Bright/Cool White) range.. because those wont really give off any of the right lighting you will need to grow your plant in either cycle.

You will want to keep your CFL's about 2-3 inches away from your plant.. take it from me.. even though CFL's dont really get too hott.. they WILL burn your plants.... ive done it before..:wall:

And as far as your question about transplanting.. Yes you will have to transplant eventually. Just because they are Feminized does not mean that they cannot become root bound... this also happened to a couple of my plants.. and they slowed growth.. and almost came to a complete stop (which is what will happen if you let your plants get root bound and dont do anything about it).. You said you had put drainage holes in the bottom right?? That will be a pretty good indicator of when you will need to transplant.. because you will see roots coming out of them. Dont panic if you see a little white thing coming out.. you'll be fine. but if alot starts to show.. then its time to transplant...

And another good way to tell is by your watering.. before i transplanted my big plants (when they were pretty close to being root bound) i would water them in the morning.... and sometimes have to water them AGAIN that day at around 7pm.. soo thats how i could tell something was wrong.. because you should only have to water your plants once every 2-4 days. keep that in mind because sometimes the roots dont always grow through the bottom to let you know its time to transplant... You should plan on transplanting only ONE time tho (if you really need to.. a 3rd time is OK.. but plan on 2)

and i deff think you can plant two plants.. you should be fine with that.. ok. ive been rambling on for a while now.. sorry.. i tend to do that when i smoke... bongsmilie:eyesmoke::sleep: lol.. but yeaa im gonna subscribe to your journal.. if you got any questions.. ill do my best to answer them.. and ill try to keep it to a minimum of 2 paragraphs.. lmao.. Good Luck

P.S. Do you have a camera??? are you going to be puting pictures up at all?? that would help alot for any further questions. and also what seeds are you ordering from nirvana??? im planning on ordering seeds from them VERY soon.. and id like to know how fast they came.. and how "discreet" they are?? Thanks.. hope i helped a bit

I hate to say it, but why spend this much money on a fridge to grow in...You could use that money to build a fuck off grow closet or whatever...Just a thought...

Ya i already own the fridge and im not using it, But ya If i decide to do this grow ill def put pictures up. My only thing about doing the fridge is I am in an apartment building and doing all the work might be a little difficult. If i opt out of the fridge I might just pick up one of those small grow tents, and do a hydroponic in that.
