1ST grow. OK to flower...???

OK, here's the deal... I got 2 ladies (hopefully) that are 6 and 7 weeks into veg. They are growing rapidly. I transplanted them after the first week into 3 gal. pots. This is my first grow, so it went well, but after transplanting, I realized I didn't have enough soil in there after settling. Hesitantly, I decided to transplant them one last time about a week ago into 5 gal. pots. Good thing I did, cuz there was no loose soil left in there. Well, it seems as though I can now see roots coming out of the bottom of the 5 gal. already. How is that possible? I am worried about them becoming rootbound. I am waiting for my last couple of lights and I will be putting them on 12/12 sometime this week. Is this going to be a problem? Kinda freakin' out over here!

Should be fine. How tall are those? Look short to be using a 5gallon bucket. Seems like a waste of soil to me.

very small for there age, what light are you using?

I have 3 foot plants in a 2.5 gal bucket...ive never had a poblem with rootbound

Thanks guys. Yeah they are only about 15" tall. I am only using CFLs right now. They look great compared to most of the small cfl grows I have been watching. I grew them with only (2) 100watters w/reflectors. I just added a few more bulbs a week ago. They r crazy bushy and tons of branches. Ok to flower or should I hold off a bit longer?

if your not in a hurry, hold off a little bit. it'll help your yeild in the end

as a suggestion, I would move the lights farther from the plant for a few days to cause it to stretch, so that you get a little more upward length in your buds. small bushy plants = small buds

sure flower away. make sure you take some nice clones from them first. keep feeding veg nutes into week 3 than change to bloom. watch your future nitrogen dosages as she looks nearing max-she will need it the first three weeks.
those cfl's are gonna kill your yield-you can get a 100 watt hps or mh from homedepot security light for around 65.00. very simple to wire.

So, I decided to hold off a little longer on the flowering. I am gonna pick up a small hps. With the bunch of 2700k fluoros, it should be good.

I decided to wait because I am not sure of these are ladies or not. I cut a couple clones off each one and rooted them. I am gonna let them veg. for a lil bit then flower them to see if I can get a def. sex before I waste anymore time. I should know in a couple of weeks hopefully if I got some gals.
