Hi Ghost, Do you mean the leggy growth coming out of the buds? Got a pic for me?

The thread title is now somewhat misleading. She's been under 150w HPS since early in flowering.

I'm not disgusted, just puzzled. Overall, for a Black Thumb, I think I've done all right and I've learned so much! Thanks for stopping by.

I have pics, however I am unable to post due to the size. If you can tell me how to resize them I will load them tonight.

It's been awhile for me, too, Ghost. I've always resized using Paint. You can enlarge and crop with it, too. Even draw a red circle to emphasize. Nice and low-tech.

I succumbed to temptation and harvested. I've since learned (I think) that it's called "foxtailing." A sign that growth will explode if allowed (which I didn't, ooops).

After hang-drying, it filled 3 pint jars but, it tasted nasty, even after flushing and several weeks of cure so, I did a water cure. I see what they mean about nasty, brown water. Scrawny Gladys smoked better right off of the tree.

I thought I'd dried it adequately (it was crispy) but, a lot of it molded - and what didn't mold is sticky but still tastes bad. Anyway, I hope you let your foxtails grow out and become soda can size colas that glitter with trichomes!

All is not lost here. Ruthie has re-vegged and become a productive mom. A week ago or so, I filled 4" containers with recycled perlite and set them in a tray containing 1/2" of mild FNG and a few grains of disolved epsom salts. After the perlite was damp enough to hold a 2" hole, I scooped about 1/3 teaspoon of Rootone w/fungicide into each hole (I've dipped the end before but, it didn't stick well).

Then I took my clean exacto knife and trimmed the mom, putting the cuttings in with the rooting powder and gently pressing down. 1 out of 4 drooped badly, the other 3 look to be doing great! I'd taken an extra cutting and put it in plain water in the windowsill, with the leave hanging over the edge of the jar and it looks great. I will trade it for the droopy one tomorrow and put them into flower. SoG style. Now I gotta rig up a support system.

I'm hoping that giving them more time this time (more than 6 months? I guess!) will EVENTUALLY give me the results I seek. I might as well gain experience with crappy seeds until I can afford some good ones! By then it'll be smoooth sailing. :hump: Ha ha ha ha ha

OK so, by my calculations, it's been almost 3 months since Ruthie started having children. The first two looked promising but, had seeds!? OMG, do you mean I've been cloning males? Nooooooooo!

Wouldn't this be the time when one actually hoped their plants had hermied? I know I did. Now that I think about it, there was another (not so?) slight mishap with the timer. I grudgingly removed the offending seedy 2 plants to the windowsill and, after the next test, either my bowl or to the compost pile. Then I started germing the rest of my seeds. LOL Then I ordered Reverse and Bushmaster. $40 for both incl. shipping.

The next most-ready baby is being flushed with molasses water for a week - we shall see how long I can leave her alone to cure. :hump:
