Hi blacksnow,

Your plants look gorgeous, nice pictures of your setup too. Your grow box looks real nice, good equipment you've bought. I'm thinking of getting some T5s also.

good growing to you

Okay, I simply have to ask you this, because you may have just accidently solved my biggest concern yet! In that one picture, where the plant had the teeniest of balls, that one so obviously male, and you said you were hoping the other ones that had those small green things by the nodes, you were hoping those were female. Was that the case?? Do you know yet? Because my plant has that same kind of deal going on, no balls just those confusingly unhelpful green shoots near the nodes. Omg, please tell me you know the sex of those, I will hunt you down and smooch you if you say those are girls.
(btw, I'm female, tehe)

Those pics were pretty early to tell sex yet. Since I'm growing bag seed I got a lot of random strains and sex can show at different times =O.

One that had the green shoots ended up having balls. 4 of the plants I threw away were absolutely gorgeous and didnt show any sex yet. Was sad to let them go, but I had no choice. So I took the 8 best looking females I could.

Next time around I might try 1-2 days of darkness before flowering in hopes sex will show quicker

Wanted to let everyone know since moving my air filter into the cabinet last night I haven't had any smell issues. I just walked into the closet and it smells great! I even opened the cabinet a tad to see if I could smell anything. I COULDNT SMELL A THING!

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

I did end up buying 2 more, and I have one outside that closet and 1 in my living room. The one outside the closet is still just in case. but it isnt necessary.

the filters are good though. hepls with dust, and such. i might buy another for our bedroom

**UPDATE**

DAY 18 OF FLOWERING

Ok...So lets start with the bad stuff...

a few weeks ago I had some white spots on my leaves. I couldn't figure out the issue and couldn't find any insects/bugs/etc. So I just figured I'd see how it went.

I noticed a few days ago shit flying around my cabinet. I thought it was gnats, but after doing some reading it finally all made sence! The white spots were from 'thrips'! The thrips then become adults and get wings!

I've ordered some insects to take care of the issue. Some insects that I put in my water that will eat the thrip larvae in the soil, and some insects that will kill everything walking/flying around my cabinet. The stuff in the soil is nematode or something. The others are thrip predator mites.

I also ordered some blue sticky traps to hang to catch adults to keep them from laying eggs.

The infestation isn't severe, but I want to keep it that way.

I am also adding a black oven carbon filter to my intake to stop anymore insects frmo getting in (or at least thats the idea)

Well...

Other then that things are going well I suppose. Everything is starting to branch out and get a bit crowded though =O. I'm just going to let it be for this grow though. I dont want to go crazy trimming/pruning.

After this grow finishes I will def be upgrading my exhaust fan. Because as of right now some air is leaking out the front of my cabinet, and I feel it wouldnt be an issue if my exhaust fan created more suction.

I haven't watered since saturday night and it doesn't seem like they need it yet. Soil still has some moisture, and no leaves are drooping. I'm gonna hold off till tomorrow on watering.

Only other issue is plants growing at different rates. I put what i believe to be 4 sativas in the back, and the 4 indicas in the front. the sativas are much taller so i have my back light hanging higher. my front light is lower to remain close to the stop of the smaller plants.

There were only a few leaves from the back plants int he way, and I tried just setting them on top of the otehr light. tihs turned out to be an issue and appears to have burnt a few fan leaves. not a huge issue, but i folded the few in the way around to keep from touching the lower light.

More and more bud sites showing up, and white hairs are everywhere!
Getting very excited!

Anyways here are some pics <3

Oh wait...here is a pic of the thrip damage just so you know what it looks like

Ok now onto good pics =]

Here are a few pics of how i am keeping my lights on an angle and different heights to deal with the plants growing at different rates

here are a couple pics of the leaf folding

***UPDATE***

DAY 22 OF FLOWERING

Well....I knew I wasn't going to be home for a few days so I adjusted my lights to a height I thought would work, and even pinched one plant that seems to be growing by the minute.

Well I came home today and what I feared had happened =[

My tallest plant hit the light and scorched the top bud, and a few leaves.

I adjusted my light to the highest point, and looked at it for a second. I knew the plant still had some growing to do so I decided to cut off the top of the plant.

I had done this to a plant the first week of flowering and al though the top didn't grow back it has bud sites all over other stems. So I'm ok with what had to be done.

Would rather cut off the top then remove the plant completely.

I would have tied it down but my cabinet is so crowded it would just cut off light from another plants buds.

Other then that things look AMAZING! I will post some pictures tomorrow (forgot my camera downstairs too lazy to walk back down =p).

Buds are looking quite tasty! The aroma when you open the cabinet is amazing! YUMMY!!!!

Also the bugs I purchased to rid of the thrips seem to be doing their job. I don't see any new damage to any of my plants. I noticed a few thrips stuck on the sticky traps. So hopefully they did their jobs!

I added a filter to my intake and it cut down on the amount of airflow a lot! although i still have plenty of air flowing through my cabinet it doesn't produce a good breeze anymore. I'm gonna have to run to target tomorrow and purchase one of those tiny fans. I see a few plants are lacking on stem width and id rather get some more air blowing on them to muscle them up now b4 buds start making them fall over.

ok enough chat..pics tomorrow

**UPDATE**

DAY 30 OF FLOWERING

Sorry for the lack of pictures/updates. Been very busy, and having a hard enough time keeping up with my ladies =O

Ok well things are going pretty good. My plants are all going at different speeds so I decided to just cut the tops off of a few to make it easier to control the height of my lights.

I've added some bamboo to each plant to help support the bud weight as it continues to stack on =]

I used pull tights to connect the plant the bamboo. I have also used them to lower some branches that keep reaching up.

Buds are really starting to look good. Can't wait to see how they look in another few weeks =]

I have started adding molasses to my water. I will continue using molasses with all waterings without my normal nutes.

anyways heres some pics

amazing pics man. making my mouth water. looks like you've pretty much done everything right first time! Been lurking on the site for a while and this is the nicest 1st grow I've seen so far... Definitely influencing my plans for a first grow :). How much are you hoping to yield altogether?

why did this thread just end like this?????? why do i see this all over the place?? every fuckin forum is full of these journals written by very motivated people, who love growing and writing about it. only problem is most are cut off in the middle. are these people getting busted? thats what i think.
