So this Saturday will be 7 weeks of flower, and that's when I'm going to chop her. Shes pretty close to being finished anyhow but the main reason is that the mites are slowing coming back. I'm getting fed up with these fuckers lol. Here are a few pictures of some of the main colas. Note the mite damage .

No I didn't want to damage the trichs so I didn't spray much, reviews I read said that you shouldn't spray the buds for that reason.

I hate those damn mites.
Looks like you've done a good job keeping them at bay. Some damage but
you made it tough for them at least. She still looks good overall and getting close. Probably smart to take her down a little early versus a little more growing time fighting mites and more damage to your plant.
UPS delivered six of those 45w cfls today, the other six I assume will arrive monday.
I've replaced 5 27w with 5 of the 45w in my veg room. The rest are for back ups and two for reading lamps.
I may even order more, and put a few in my flower room.
For the life of me I can't find anything higher than 5500K temp cfls that are higher than 27W locally.
Not to mention for that price.

That was a hell of a deal on those, thanks again Silver.

how tall did she get in all silver?
Actually not that tall, but she got super wide lol.

NP dude glad you like them, best deal out there I think. Overall I'm happy with this grow, as I said in the beginning of this thread, this grow was more for the learning experience hence the very low budget.

I feel more comfortable investing more time and money now than I did when I started. Best thing of all is the knowledge I have gained throughout this grow. I have high hopes for my next grow, it will be a one plant Indica dominate strain (not sure which yet) ScrOG grow with 28,000 lumens (Max during flower) in a ~20"x20" grow space. Heat shouldn't be an issue after I am done with the exhaust duct fan I am making (3000rpm 7" 2 speed fan). I have already been thinking up ways to keep pests out. I'm a DIY'er at heart so for one I will be cutting holes for passive intakes at the bottom and using metal vent covers with women's stockings stretched over them to cover the holes lol. I had the idea for the stockings because I was looking for some kind of screen that was free flowing and had holes small enough that mites couldn't pass through. I will also probably use stockings on the end of the exhaust fan as well. Well that's enough of my rambling, I'm going to start a thread in the grow room design section when work has started on the new cab so stay tuned and high!

NICE! Congrats on the nice CFL grow! Too bad about them mites, we all hate em'. I'm finally able to do a small one plant CFL grow but I can't share due to shitty camera, makes it not worth it. But again, nice job.

Can't wait to see dry weight, smoke report.

For Spider mites, I know a sure fire way to at least knock them down enough to let your plant finish.
Sounds silly, but it works.
You vacuum the fuckers up! No kidding. you take your vacuum cleaner, and you put the wand attachment on, and you vacuum the mites right off your buds. Usually this alone will not get rid of them completely, but with a little diligence it will slow them down enough that your plant will be ok.

also, I hear you can use diatomacious earth right up to the day you harvest. no personal experience with this

Hope this helps. I hate to hear about taking plants early :( That is a really nice first try, by the way. Nice job.

Yeah it seems like you would have to do that too often though, I don't think it would get rid of the eggs.

In other news, shes dead! But she died for a good cause! Bud pictures!

How much you think you have total from her silver?
In that picture of all the buds it is missing one secondary cola, I gave one to my buddy. I'm not a good judge of weight by looks but my guess is maybe 2oz? Who knows, I'm going to be getting a scale before they are done drying.

Does anyone have some tips on drying and how long to do it for? This is my first time doing it and I just have it hanging in a closet from clothes hangers.

would u say those flex light add ons are strong enough to add a Y adapter for 2x those 45w bulbs?

Hey silver, you haven't seen a good thread on a CFL 12/12 from seed grow have you? I see a lot of them that are using HID but I can't use my 600 right now.

No I don't think so, one of the 45w lights seemed to be the limit on weight.

just read through it all, good job. can't wait to see your second grow in that new cab. Looks interesting :D

Work has already started on the veg side of the new cab!

I think I have but I do not recall where I saw it, your best bet would probably back track through the CFL section here on RIU and try to find one.

Few shots of the cab.

Nice job, sorry I wasn't around for most of the show. I have my main "bush" DWC under my 400W HPS to the left of my 4x4 tent. The right side has her babies also in DWC. The clones only pick up the peripheral light from the HPS and are mostly under 4 23 watt 2700K CFL's. I've since noticed the buds closest to the cfl's have 3 times the trichome production as those recieving less lumens... and even more than the outer buds sites that have stretched out to the other side to grab HPS. Hmmmm. Something to say for those CFL's for sure. I was thinking if I purchased even larger wattage...........BOOM!!
