I used blue 5 gal Lowe's buckets for a while. Lots of pH and feed swings. I'd recommend a 12 gal at least tough tote from home depot and a netpot lid. Cut a hole in the lid with a jigsaw and good to go. $10
Yeah, I got black ones from home depot, but I will be switching to larger ones soon. 5 gallon buckets seems a little small for dwc, I have 2 / 28 gallon totes, but they seemed overwhelming at the time. Thinking about setting them up for the next run. My biggest problem was that I didn't anticipate the faster growth rate in veg, I have 2 4x8 tents, one for veg and mothers, one for flowering. My veg tent got out of hand, plants exploded, I had another 3 weeks or more in the flower tent, I had no choice but to start the clones into flower in my veg tent under 2 315w 4000k cmh. I had to buy another 315w cmh and 4x4 tent for the mothers. They (mothers ) are in soil, every thing else is dwc. Eventually I want to try rdwc. But baby steps.

I almost bought the kit, but I am glad I didn't. Making them is easy to do. Upgrade the air pump, the one's that come with the kits, are not efficient, amazon has a good one for around $35. I bought 2 for each tent, running 2 four inch air stones in each bucket, 1 stone hooked up to a different air pump.

Hey transplanted a clone into my dwc bucket. Roots are starting to come out under neath. Ph changes daily. I think this will be a test run. Eventually i will like to convert to dwc and move away from soil.

But clone was lagging as its revegged so hope i see some good growth from now..

I have bat guana nutes listed as good for hydro is this the case or stay away from organics in dwc?
Yeah I’ve been wondering the same for RTW , I got a bottle of Sensi pro bio diesel , and reading up on there website they claim it’s good for use in hydroponics and is ph stable , I’m going to give it a test once I’m In flowering . I’m using some seaweed and aloe ferment *that my store said was good for hydro* in RTW along with H&G base nutes

They lag a little until they get roots established.

Didn't get pics at harvest, but this is 3 weeks before chop. Took up most of one side of 4x8 tent. Had a lot of problems trying to figure out dwc. But I made it. Hopefully, next go will be better, I have 2 630w cmh lights, Phillips 3100 bulbs and GH trio nute's. Plan on trying blue planet nute's next time. Also, last 2 weeks I used a blurple led for the extra UV and red spectrum.
I fail at DWC but get by with soil. Nice job!

Finally got my first smoke from dwc.
I am very happy with the results. Can't really ever see going back to soil again. One plant, almost 13 ounces. Plus over a half ounce of bubble hash. I wish I could share a bowl of it with everyone.
,,,,,,,,,,,,, since I can't, I'll smoke it for you.

Don't know what the strain is, I had 2 bagseeds that I have been growing for about 1 1/2 years, one clone hermied and this is the result. It has developed purple trichomes, first time I have ever seen it. Nothing like either of the two of the mother plants, way better. Almost lost them this past summer when the power went out for 5 days.only one plant servived.

Try using fresh material, put it in the fridge for a couple of days. Don't freeze it,you just want it cold. And use the biggest ice cubes you can get. Usually the 120 and 90 bags are my best. Good luck.
