1st attempt CFL grow box (any tips)

nope they are pistols i checked them today and they are white hairs. i thought they were new leave sets to but i wasnt sure. its awesome those 4 were all reg seeds i got from some guam weed and they all have pistils on them. YAY ME!

Thanks for the vote of confidence i hope she pulls through to. right now im using a grafting technique i learn in Hawaii during high school agriculture class so i hope she pulls through. Yeah i aslo immediately fixed the lights i have them zip tide to the power strip. THEY WILL NOT FALL AGAIN!

well today will mark 14 days into flowering. good news 6 out of 7 are females and the plant that had the light fall on it healed nicely.
under a magnify glass i can see the pistils starting to come out. so today im starting them on the blooming nutes. I will try to get pics
of the pistils but my camera is shitty but ill put them up anyways.

OK here are the updated pics. the bigger ones seem to be growing very slow like the pistils aren't showing as much as the smaller ones.

Ok check them today and what can i say but pistil pistils pistils!
Im very excited my smaller ones seem to have just taken off with them. they are everywhere.
as for the bigger ones they have really started to show which is a big relief.(thought i was doin something wrong for a min.)

Ok here they are. As of today the bigger ones are 1 month into flowering and growing slowly. The smaller ones are 3 weeks into flower and they make me happy! LOL

Nice to see someone from Guahan keeping up a current grow journal.
Good growth from CFLs
I'm used to outdoor plants since my pops grows every now and then, but with the rainy season hitting I don't want to deal with mold and rot, so I've decided to go indoors.
I'm planning on starting my first grow in my closet and I'm going to start with CFLs before I jump into HPS and Metal Halide lamps.

Where did you get the sockets to plug your CFLs into the power strip and what kind of lights are you using? Home Depot? Benson?
I haven't gone shopping anywhere, but a point in the right direction would help.
I started germinating tonight, got some seeds that are a mediocre chronic strain, hopefully I can start about 6-10 plants for my first shot around.
I want to veg for about 4-6 weeks and then see what I can get out of the first batch. I'm really only looking to grow about 3 ounces worth of herb for personal use.

I'm tired of paying so much for herb here on island and I just want some for personal consumption as I use herb for medicinal purposes. I've been sick for the last year and seeing as I can't work, I don't have the money to satisfy my desire for Mary Jane. Message me if you're down to session some time and talk about growing experiences!

You can take the toppings for a clone, but the best clones come from the low growth due to the newer hormones that have just been released into them. Where as the top has the same hormones but they are just older. So what im saying is by the book the bottom is better, not saying you cant have good results just have found it to be easier from lower growth.

thanks for checking my grow out it really is nothing special this was my first indoor grow like you i usually just grow in the boonies.
everything that i got for my set up was from home depot pretty cheap too i might add.
Nice that you started your own grow 6-10 one shot i will be looking forward to that journal, but as for vegging them for 6 weeks unless you have closet space i would just go for 4 weeks especially since you are planning 10 plants that might take alot of room. CFL's are good and cheap but for bigger plants that will take more space you might find them a hassle cause you will start to see how far the light really penetrates. i would invest in a hps dont really need the MH i have seen grows that only use hps and the results are awesome. If you have anymore questions bout growing indoors i will try to answer them. Esta Later!

On another note here are the pics of the harvest. they are harvested early being that i will be moving and they were to big and heavy to be lugging around. headed to germany woot!

Hello i cant seem to create a new journal so im going to hijack my old journal.

Info on the grow.

Type: micro grow, utilizing LST
Strain: bag seed
Week: ending first week in flower
Lighting: 4x 23w 5000k cfl 100w equiv.
2x 40w 2700k cfl 150w equiv.
The set-up: growing under my desk
With reflective insulation.
Ventilation: just two old computer fans
Soil: just plain potting soil.

Also srry for not starting this from the start.

Looks like a happy growing space. temps hum etc. You got a happy camper their!

Btw thats some good lst especially for cfl. Many people are so scared to bend and manipulate a plant that much. For a second attempt you clearly have done your research. subbed. bongsmilie
