18 gallon DWC

Week 2 update... Since my rez temps were around 78 degrees I decided to buy some hydro guard and bio cozyme and a food grade thermometer. I changed my res added a frozen gallon of water and brought my temps under 69. Seems like the plants are recovering from being stressed to hell for the time being.
Again man, you should try to round up a chiller off of Craigslist or something maybe.

Dude, buy this chiller. It's so cheap I can't even believe it.

Well everyone, I hope ONE OF YOU took my advice because this ecoplus chiller I linked earlier has now skyrocketed back up to $320 already from $250 when I posted earlier. I TOLD YOU SO!

Here's a little update... I added full strength nutes for week 3 and the girls seem like they could use more. I'm thinking of going a little extra for week 4 but not sure if it'll be any help. The roots are nothing to brag about either.

If you look close it seems like in the middle of my root system is brown. I pray that it is just nutrient stain but I'm not sure. image.jpg

NECROTIC LEAVES ? I've been watching this fan for a few days now. I'm about 95% sure it's from PH Fluctuations (Test Strips) so I'm gonna leave this pic to diagnose.

Only one plant has this and it's on another leaf but not as bad. I also added another 5 gallon serving of food because the girls aren't dark enough (IMO) and new growth is still a little lime green. I haven't noticed any burn on them since they hit full strength nutes on Thursday. So I'll feed them this 5 gallon snack and monitor them for awhile.

So I should run sterile ? I was totally intending on going sterile but then I brought FloraNova and it's like 5% organic or something like that so I said fuck it and just added those two products to the mix. It seems like beenies are the way to go unless there are other ways to go about. Oh and my Rez temp stays under 70 degrees.

Your roots oughtta be huge by now that's all I can say. H2o2 is an oxidizer and keeps things clean. I use mammoth p with it in RDWC with no issues. I also use GH Flora Trio "micro, gro, bloom"

My temps in my water stayed 75+ the whole time I grew my last grow, in my signature, it wasn't until I WAY over-nuted them that I had problems at the very end. My grow before this I used to use frozen gallon jugs of water and found it to be to much of a hassle to deal with and the ice was shocking my roots. I still don't have a waterchiller but my nutrient line seems to keep them happy. A little discoloration from the nutrients though. All and all for what you have to work with you seem to be doing fine. Just don't over think it, like one of your comments said I think she needs more nutrients after you fed her and I'm all like WAIT til next week and get a ppm meter because more IS NOT always better. These nutrient lines are concentrated nutrients. Also why is your light so far from your plants, is that a metal halide bulb? If not get a 400w MH bulb for vegging if you have an adjustable ballast. Just my 2cents.

600 HPS and I don't have the proper set up but it's working ok for now. Once I get a job I'll grab a water chiller, vortex/inline fan, ph ppm Ec /TDS meters & light movers/lifters. Until then I'm just trying to push these till harvest.

Yeah man that's why I'm saying, big beautiful white roots is the key to victory. Seems like my root system is having trouble. Maybe it is the frozen gallon of ice water that's stunting them. Or it could be from me always opening the damn Rez to check ph & temps 3 times a day every day. To be honest I think that if I just left them alone they'd be doing better but since it's my first grow I'm doing to much and gaining more stress then knowledge. I know I'm doing good and this is the best I can get it for now but I also know that there is plenty more that can to be done.
