150w HPS screws to standard outlet! What do you think?(Pic of Light)

Hey raise your hand if you've ever seen 2 seperate cases with your own two of someone losing their house, and the other one lost a whole auto shop full of equipment for this EXACT SAME THING? No one? You don't understand how devastating your "advice" could have been. I mean it's one thing not to know what your talking about it but to post it on RIU kind of takes it a little further don't ya think?I didn't say one curse in my second post and you still spazed. Good luck with your grow man if all goes well some day you will realize why I thought your advice was so misguided.

i spazed cause you dont know me or my home or my daughter and have no right to talk about my priorities or life. You dont need to swear to be an asshole. how would it cause a fire anyway? you dont know anybody that burned there house down this way liar. or your misinformed. APPARENTLY these wont even light from a regular socket and aside from that....its not drawing anymore electricity than a standard lightbuld from the socket so its not like it would over heat....i read that it wont even strike on so it would be like a regular bulb sitting in the socket OFF!

I see why you know my advice was misguided its just your adolescent reaction to it was rediculous. Maybe "This guy is misinformed, make sure you get a ballast" would have been sufficient. or "please ignore this post, this guy is way off" or any one of these other kind posts.. I cant imagine a woman needing to deal with a man like you....I cant imagine someone making a mistake with you. if this is how you react to just a stranger how do you treat people that effect you personally. you havnt even said sorry for acting completely out of line.

just for the record- you need a special socket along with a ballast to run that lamp. you can screw them into a regular incandecent socket, but a regular incandecent socket isnt rated to take the heat a HID lamp puts off. this is where the fire hazard comes into play. this is where plenty of housefires have started.

your both overreacting, but the OP should do more homework before posting potentially dangerous info. disinformation is like internet cancer.
