INTRO:
Like to first start this off by saying hello to everyone on rollitup.org. This is going to be my first time growing indoors and will be a def first time growing a Auto flower strain.
Anyways my set up is a super stealth operation not because of room mates, or neighbors, or location, just simply because i do not want to get busted for doing this on a lower scale. If im going to get burnt growing its going to be worth it.
I'm using this grow journal as my stepping stone in starting to grow indoors, and will be used to adjust and grow better for the future. Have to start off somewhere right?
THE GROW BOX:
My grow room is a 2.5ft long X 2.0ft wide by 4.5ft tall. Gave my closet a new make over to accomplish this, framing it out with enough space for my clothes to still hang above it. I've installed 2 fans 170 cfm's a piece. One I installed in the bottom for intake / air circulation and the other for the exhaust. (Fans were purchased at Lowe's and are meant to push air through a ducting for a furnace just rewired to an extension cord to make it so it could be plugged into a wall.
LIGHTING:
My light is going to be a 150 Watt HPS which is 16,000 lumens from the proper distance plus a few daylight bulbs 23W CFL'S that are supposed to be very good during a veg stage and those will be switched out to a cool white 23W CFL's during the flowering stage. Will adjust as needed.
I'm also using Letter paper (a little thicker then your regular A4 paper) from my reflection on side walls and floor. Thought it would be a cheaper alternative then buying Mylar which i heard works wonders. But with such a small box i figured it wouldn't be very beneficial.
SOIL:
For my soil I`m going to be using a mixture of store bought brands (Home Depot) because i don`t have access to FFOF or Bio Bizz . So only thing i can do is make my own.
I will be using:
- Nature mix vegetable gardens & herbs (organic) with 0 fertilizers
- Vermiculite
- Perlite
- Worm castings
- Premier peat moss
Any suggestions on the soils I`ve picked or opinions would be appreciated. I researched a lot and this was my best noted choices. Also Pro-mix HP could be another choice but at $30 for 2.2cu I might pass on it.
BEANS:
The most important part of this whole operation. After super extensive research on finding the best of the best auto flowering strains to grow ive narrowed it down to Afghan Kush Ryder from World Of Seeds to be the auto I try in my First operation. I`m traveling within the next week to go purchase these from GTA seed bank in ONT, Canada. The Beans are 7 for $80. I`ve read many good and bad reviews about WOS but decided to go with them anyways because of all the mixed reviews you get no matter were you look on any seed supplier. Everyone has good and bad experience i guess but in most cases if something didnt go right its a user error.
I will continue to update this page with how my grow is going + pics so stay tuned! Also would love to hear some opinions on my set-up, soil, lighting and seed choice for an auto growth.
