First I heard about it when started reading Uncle Ben tweaks and pointers thread, UB uses Griffin spinout, but that is a bit for farmers, a bit difficult to get in smaller quantities. Then Kite told me about microkote. Maybe it's the alternative to griffin but never did any reading how do they differ. From the looks only color
Well few grows ago I was using 22l(5,8gal) container and it still looked surrounded by roots.. Now it's coated as well, I just do not want to grow in it cause it takes more space, more difficult to carry, it's rounded and thefore I cannot comfortably place another container.. Now I got couple of 18L containers. The one that is also in the pic. I find those better fitting my needs. I've seen people harvesting in 1-2gal containers way more than I do in 5, so I'll better practice on growing than lose space. But if your space allows that, so why not

I measured container and its more like 6 gallons.
In fact i had many doubts do i really need it.Because coco needs leeching often.Not to talk about amount of nutrients wasted in DTW...But i found non standard bin that ideally fits in my space.And i have only one plant,why not..
Besides,on the next i will have reveged plant.She filled half net of SCROG already and she still has 25days of veg until flower....Oversize wont hurt..

These are of Cindy a few days ago, she's beginning her stretch and we're about 6 days back into flower now. Vegged for 4 weeks roughly and she just received her first feeding tonight. Took her right around 1-1.5 weeks to really start taking off when I put her in veg. I will be tying her down to control the stretch tomorrow night. Other than that, anything in particular I should be looking out for during flowering? She was just given 2 tbsp. of 5-5-5 and 2 pinches worth of epsom salt.

@papa, sure you can go without this coating, many does And ~6gal is really a lot. And I keep forgetting, that different rooms - different rules..
For me additional 25days sounds impossible After vegging 5 weeks from seed I've already got a plant that I was unable to maintain.. The grow went in geometric progression. And man, your stem looks like Hulk

@dutch, dude! Finally I see one happy plant! looking beautiful, and those thin serrated leaves.. Looks like you got the same pheno as KH had when he was posting his Cindy grow pics on one of my journals.. Well my only recomendation would be - Don't overdo it! I'd suggest to start with 1tbspoon per gallon max... Dunno about the food you're using, but the one I use is stiff, not too watery, and I never go above 2ml/l(0.5tbsp/gal?) even at a late stage, You can soon get tip burns or lockouts.. You already know that cindy is mg whore, so good that you tickle her with epsom salt. Well but again, different rooms different rules.. You'll have to figure out yourself Good luck! Cant wait for you to finally harvest this awesomeness

Thanks man. Yea I decided to play it cool with the nutes and let the soil do her thing for Cindy for awhile. She started showing small signs of deficiency and the start of her stretch so, I figured this would be a good time to add additional food. She is in a 3 gal. pot that is 90% of the way full of soil/perlite. Given that, roughly a 0.66 tbsp./per gal of Happy Frog dry fertilizer. Going to try and get through this grow with just the 5-5-5 and Epsom salt to keep things at a balance.

For harvest, I know you and many others say she should be ready around day 49-52 from flip, what exactly am I looking for as far as trichs go? I want that trippy, laughing, soaring high I've been hearing so much about. Would 30% cloudy with no amber be a good estimation?

well I would go for 30% cloudy, the rest clear. also KH said that day 52 C99 is at its best, then I was following some discussion of his with somebody else on this forum, they agreed to day 49. But I tried some of Cindy clones harvested at day 65 and they were still not bad. Still I'd go with 52, cause after that I almost do not get any growth, time's wasted

Sounds good to me, and I'll be looking forward to counting down the next 42 days, give or take a day. Cindy definitely sounds like a good deal all around. I'll probably do an update on my thread of her later so I don't clutter up your thread with my grow. Definitely need to rearrange the bulbs tonight.

How's the KM doing?

KM is doing.. Well. Slow. Today, day 11 started, and the plant looks like 4days old. 4.5cm. Hopefully it's conventrated on roots and soon will start producing some foliage.





Today I got a seed delivery. A friend sent me like 10 differenct types of 'weesee'. Like Jack Herrer or Blue dream or other very very nice strains, so will be doing some intensive gardening this year

sheesh if thats what a 4 day old is supposed to look like then I should scrap my white widow lol. mine broke thru the medium on saturday and already one of the cotyledon is shriveling up and dying. funny cause it was the same one that came out purple underneath

What are the temps at your place? Cause purple might be the sign of cold. Unless it's genetic related.

And i see that it was this size after 4 days. Top is 2,5" wide. Also two posts bellow in that link there're 11days (5daysveg+6days of flower) pics.
I went through more pics and i see that my KM is like miniature version of plants i grew. It has same node count, same structure, it's just at a very small scale..

stable at 80 with the lights on. Im gonna go to my whitey and have a stern conversation with it. "why you so small sim already has 2 nodes, RUNT!"

KM is doing alright. Yesterday everything went as planned. Here are some pics of the process.


Before things happened:



Took the cuttings and placed them in.. That's right in the box where I've been growing my shrooms. The plastic bag with venting sticker that keeps moisture inside placed on a heat mat. Clones look way better than they looked on my first attempt with C99 :-X






Defoiled 2 bottom nodes and added rooting gel



And placed her into 4.5Gal container.

in 12hours top shoots grew over 1cm. So no stress observed.

Looks good sim. Sorry for going MIA again. Had an overferting issue with my C99, got her turned around a bit for the finish. The smell is awesome, you were right on the money it being a low odor strain though. See you haven't posted in a bit as well...at least not here. Hope to see an update soon. I'll snag some pictures in a few if you want to see her. Trich production is pretty awesome with this strain. Got 8 days left to go til day 52.

So, at the moment in my room I have
1 Kali Mist 24days into flower.
1 Kali mist clone. still vegging.
1 Purple AK x Jack Herer regular bean, broke through the soil 6 days ago. I wonder what the dice will roll out for me on that one.

Since I failed big time on kloning Kali mists. thought if I'll scratch the stem they will root more easily, well damaged stems rotted and only one managed to survive. Will wait till it'll be ready to give clones, then root the cuttings of survived clone and make some fem seeds. So yeah.. long way to go with them.

Here are few pics from two days ago. in a day or two will post some more. flower clusters are getting more beautiful every day. Stretching is also happening.

Hey sim, sorry about my delay again. Went away for a few days and came back to a horrible picture. Temps in the upper 90s, ton of leaves burnt to a crisp and the bulb actually got together with one of the buds and burnt the hell outta one side of it. Temps are starting to rise where I am, kicking myself in the ass for leaving.

Tonight will be her last night, going to try out the boiling water method you told me about since it worked well for you. I'll take some pictures of the buds before I throw them in jars....no need to see a fucked up plant from me again....sad face.

Sorry to hear about Cindy dutch.. I hope boiling did any good for you. Method works better when you still have some green foliage maintained.

This grow I went on 3-4times lower doses of food and can't believe, plant still did not lose a single leaf... I wen't to around 0.5ml /L. ppm is ~560, when it used to be 1300..

Here's some update.
Firs of all. KM. Tomorrow she'll be 5weeks into. man she's packing.. And the beauty of those pistils.. Cannot wait to see her in the end.. I think lower leaves got a bit brighter and petioles started to turn purple on those bottom fan leaves. Sinks/sources thing? Will try to add extra grow food. Cause now adding only 0.5ml/l (~570ppm). She's not growing any higher.

Also. From last harvest I took two times some C99 pollen. First time when it was released, 2nd time before harvesting the plant. old pollen. two days ago I thought since I'm not sprouting Cindies anytime soon, I might have to throw it away . Instead I took one little branch of KM and polinated with a paint brush. After 20min carefully sprayed it away. next day only couple pistils had browning tips. Yesterday I took some pollen from another vial. Applied on the same branch. After 20min washed it away. After 24hours almost all pistils on that brown turn brownish. Hopefully will be having couple of C99xKM seeds


PAKxJH is doing real nice. It's 16th day of veg.


Clone is acting weird. Both PAKxJH and KM clone are under the same light, 17/7. Clone does not look like km at all... Very thin branches, leaflets are receding. There was 1 node with like 5 leaflet leaves, but new shots have only 3leaflets on fan leaves...




Maybe has something to do that I was flowering her already for a week and then I put her back to veg room...

Looking good sim. Well it doesn't smell like hay or straight grass some of the smell was left in her so im happy considering. And now unfortunately...I have to take a break on growing for about 2 months. Sucks. Nice high thought, don't see the trippyness too much at all though, heat wave degraded trichs a bit maybe?

Yours are looking excellent as usual. I'll be looking into a different food/soil while I take my break. Any suggestions are welcome.
