Or you could avoid all this and just take an extension cord put it through the window down the side of the house, across the lawn in the neighbors window and in there plug. I mean thats what I do ;)

One of the most important thing you need to think about is ventilation, you need to move alot of air and keep your temps stable. OK, figure what your budget is going to be. dont forget to include nutes, ph meter, pots, trays, seedling-cloning set-up, ELECTRICAL IMPROVEMENTS unless you want your house to burn(seek professional help), ect.... How much space do you have to work with ? are you going for quality or quantity ? How much gardening experience do you have ? SIT DOWN and draw a layout or a plan.
I built my room in June and just harvested my 1st batch of some premium purp, some local experienced growers were impressed i am happy to brag about!
READ! READ! READ! Check the "sticky's" at the top of most forum sections for excellant tips, it will save you alot of time waiting for answers.
I started with a 1500 budget which quickly went up to 2700 with 2 x 1000w lights with fans, cloners,ect..... Are you growin with chemicals or Organically ? Soil or Hydro ? Alot of prep work will pay off in the long run.
Good Luck.
IMPROVEMENTS unless you want your house to burn(seek professional help),

Umm... Or a lawyer. Get yourself a nice settlement and a new nicer home =) Just dont get nabbed for arsen.

You need to install dedicated electrical lines for the grow op & its not that complicated,no need for an electrician as long as your a handy type person & not afraid to spend $30 for a book on wiring from Home Depot.

well if you are a journeyman electrician like me you install a 70 amp sub panel in the room and run a pile of dedicated circuits and timers and all kinds of fun stuff.
if you arent an electrician ..... you clear out your room and pay me to come over and set a sub panel and then you run some circuits and then i leave ... after you pay me about 1500 bucks worth of weed and you move your grow op back in
Jesus $1,500 for a simple install, you must charge $1,200 a day for labor.

I've got to interject with my two cents here. I have very little experience growing but I know far more about the technical issues this guy is trying to deal with than he does. I wouldn't even attempt to set up the grow operation he is talking about. I could be wrong but I believe the OP is not an experienced grower. Do you people think he should even be attempting this? Don't you think he should get a few successful grows under his belt first?

well you could make sure your safe and add a breaker in your breaker box (id use a 220breaker) and add more outlets in you grow room probly cost a grand or so but.

and your power bill is going to be high and then the power company will monitor your power usage daily and will find out your using power in 12 or 18 hour intervals and then more that likly the cops will bust you! so you could use a propane genorater(i plan an it) good think when i set up my grow room i can do it all my self and not only that my step dads an electrician. whoo. and ill give him a O or sumthing for helping :)

I had an electrician re-wire my whole house over a period of about a month, cost me 4500 bucks including the product he used...he prolly worked for a total of 60 hours. average 75 bucks an hour. Dont think he charged travel time considering i chose an electrician that lived near me. If you dont mind me asking what are the going rates of an electrician these days?
