I'd stick 4 raptor hoods with 1000 watts along with some vertical lighting in there, you will probably need at least 20,000 btu a/c unit.

That's what i was thinking... but i'm not too worried about heat. Its winter time here and the garage is pretty cold.

sounds like you might even need heaters :P but looks like an amazing setup im looking forward to what you end up getting in there. id suggest going a bunch of sativa s with big yields and have 2 rows on either side and a path in the middle for you to walk around and work with them also the 4x 1000 watt raptor hood sounds perfect for your set up.

Well here is more details on my home. I drew in half of my house that is connected to the room. The other half we dont want to do anything with.
We talked today, and he said he knows his system works so we will go with the separated rooms.
Not too worried about light leakage because they will be separated with a wall and doors.

We are still open to ideas and suggestions though!

My idea - knock out a wall and expand to include the living room. Who really needs a living room?

He could heat one room while it's running with the other and vice versa in the winter perhaps.

great idea to vent the heat from one room to the other to save on heating costs! A few other things to think about, Sunpulse makes a splitter that will split one 1000 watt magnetic ballast to 2 600 watt lamps! much bigger grow space for your electric bill. the splitter is about $70 but the bulbs are expencive. about $140 per bulb and you MUST use sunpulse bulbs with the splitter. Also before you buy the raptors, you have to take the hood down and turn it upside down to take the glass out for cleaning. this is a pain in the ass if you are on a perpetual crop. I like the magnum XXXL. I own both and the raptor doesnt have so much more reflectiveness than the magnum that it is worth having to take my light down every time i clean it. (once a week) The magnums have a neat little latch and cable system that allows you to drop the glass on one side of the hood about 10 inches which makes cleaning a breeze.

Only potential downside to venting from one room to another is humidity, but that really is pretty dependent on your outside environment as well.

My magnum xxxl's leak air really really bad. I have to use metal tape for air ducting and tape every seam, and the glass to the frame too. I was going through crazy amounts of co2 and major heat issues with them. I will be getting rid of them some day.

Sorry been really busy lately. My father is visiting me from china this week after 8 years! Anyway I told him I started growing and now he wants to fund it!
My business partner is out because he had plans that could eventually turn illegal. We want to keep this grow legal!
So now its just my father and I!

Anyway update: We've bought all the wood to start framing but we haven't started yet. Now that my friend is out I'm wondering if his set up was that best route.
Goal : Pump out as much high quality bud as possible while keeping it legal. I live in Washington so I'm limited to 45 plants.

As stated my father wants to fund the equipment so...
Considering money is not an issue can you guys help me out designing a room?
I personally like growing big trees in a "SOG" fashion. Like my current grow room I harvest a plant every week. But I'm not sure if this is the most efficient way.

We are thinking LEDs but how are they compared "besides the wattage" to HPS?

I've been trying to look for info on igrowlights that are said to be better then 1000w hid lights and only use 400w with almost not heat but i have yet to see someone compare the two. its triple the price of hid lights. good luck and cant wait to see the finished grow room

Hey man I have ran the 600s on splitters and although the package says you have to use the sunpulse bulbs, you really don't. Any 600 hps will do.

Just slam 7 x 1000 watters hps and big round hoods with the bulb hanging vertically inside the hood . Under does u put 6 plants in 30** gal buckets to get huge monster ! Since ur legal and your limited I suggest getting the most out of each ... that's what every licensed grower do any ways .... with 7000 watts in such a big room you wont need an a/c during cold -0 winter days , in summer your going to need atleast 20000 btu's .. U can most probably get a 3 tone thermo for 1000-1500 used on kijiji . Your gonna need a bunch of wall fans ( alteast 6 ) . 2 x 8'' in-line fans ( vortex are the best ). A biiiig carbon filter ( at least the size of you :P ) and most importantly a good board to fire up all the hps ballast's ! Recommend installing a 50 amp breaker in your main breaker box and getting a sub panel with 4 x 20 amp breakers and outlet boxes wired to each 20 amp breaker to assure every thing being safe in case of eletrical failure .

Good luck !

How much space does a 1lb or 2lb plant take? How many trees can i fit in a 21x11x8 foot area?

Im thinking of overhead and vert lighting on a light mover. checking out these igrow lights... they seem pretty good!
