I say some will pop. Personally I wouldnt use the jiffy starters and would have soaked over night then into wet paper towel in a cd jewel case then in a ziplock. That way they would pop in 2-3 days max. Oldest seeds I have tried were 12 years old and all popped, Congrats on the 28 year old clone too. I kept mine 13 years just lost it few months ago.
Will be interesting to see how they do, have read in the best of books that seed is viable for 3 years although I have seen seeds germinate perfectly normally after five years. My bet is no, they wont, but hey, what do I know
One of them actually fucking popped!!!! Anyone wanna give these babies a shot? Ill trade seeds. Ill post a picture up in a few hours at work. My wife just gave me the news.

I would have germinated them using a cup of water for 2-3 days and then then paper towel method until they popped (I put my paper towel/plate over a small cfl for some warmth in these cold months) And I'd gladly trade you some seeds man! Esp. if you're local B) I've got tons of gens, PM me.
Its not surprising as the US government stockpiles seeds of many sorts to have access to endangered plants or certain gentics they wish to use for better commerical growing. They have seeds decades old. You store them right they last forever. They actually a year or 2 ago sprouted seeds found in a rodent hole from the years of dinosaurs and got the seeds of an extinct unknown flower to sprout grow and bloom. They were thousands of years old.
Holy shit thats crazy. I didn't even think that would be possible. I wonder, could you do some kind of tissue culture to any seed and have it grow? For example my gpa also has seeds from his father, he has no idea how old they are or anything.
