1,000 Watt SFV Kush grow

Alright here we go, this is my second grow in this room. My last one was listed on here as well and I am happy to say the results were GREAT in every way. I hope we can match or beat the last one. The room we are working with is 5 ft. by 5 ft. We are using a 4 by 4 tray with a 70 gallon res. Advanced Nutrients are being used, as I had a lot left which made this grow almost paid for. I was very happy with everything from AN except the price. Way over priced, so needless to say this will be the last grow using them. Back to GH. Anyway, we are using a 1,000 watt bulb with a digital ballast that switches back and forth easily from Hps to MH bulbs. Our carbon filter is amazing in blocking the smell. My closet is being cooled with air form my bathroom which when needed a 10,000 btu ac kicks on and keeps the temps. right. Here are a few pics. of what we are working with. Any advice, questions or comments are always wanted and appreciated. I started these girls today from an SFV OG mom. There are 3 different cuts from different SFV moms. I will have moms of all 3 so at the end we can keep the strain close. This table might switch into a variety table soon. I have other moms started, so I might use this small set up to see what we have. I am in need of any good cuts or seeds from a reputable person. Anyone??? hahahaha. Doesn't hurt to try.

Good to see you back up and running Saine...

You've put enough work into that room to bring
ALL of those girls to life...maybe not that last
one, but miracles happen.

How were the roots when you planted them?
If they have already rooted well, you could
consider going to 24/0...

EDIT: I'm trying to figure out what strain SFV
is...nothing comes to mind...enlighten me please.

Nice room setup, looks a bit like where darth vader would go for a mask change j/k.

Your doing flood n drain right, have you ever considered just using the 6" rockwool cubes for the beginning part save on all that hydroton.

Thanks for coming by and for your faith. I was thinking of starting with the 24 now, but the sick ones made me weery. I know that 1,000 watt is big on them right now, along with starting their new feeding schedule. I thought I would watch them for a day or three and make that switch. Now you second guessed me maybe I'll go turn her on.. hahahaha. Thanks. The SFV strain is nothing more than an OG Kush created by a reputable grower in the local So. Cal (San Fernando Valley or the 818, hence the area code) hahaha. It is a very strong earthy Kush strain, nice yield for a kush. This is one of the problems not starting from seed and putting your hands up to a person stating a clone is something it is not. This grower I took my time to find my way to insure his labeled cuts. My last grow turned out to be great just not what I was told I was givin. It was a Sour Diesel Og mix, very potent and nice, no complaints other than not what I expected. Anyway its just a local Kush strain. I'd love to share with you. :peace:

Yeah, right now I just hand feed them till they really start takin off. I will take this advise though. I was thinking of using just the cubes for a bigger set up, how do you like the cubes? Any problems with roots tangling up? Thanks for your time..

About a week in now, I have added more strains. Altogether there is 32 plants, this table will only grow 15 maybe 16. I will pick which ones in the next week, at the time I switch into flower. The others will become mothers or be flowered elsewhere. We now have the SFV Kush from 2 diff. well known growers, Bananna Og, Og Kush, and White Russian.

Oh and Jonny you were right all those sick girls were saved except the one.. I just let her go to make room for the new girls. Thanks for your faith, it must of helped. Lights have been on 24 for 5 days now. Another 5 to 7 and flower begins.

NGT, your advice was takin and the new girls are all in 6 in cubes. I only flood once a day now and just hand feed the ones in clay another time throughout the day. They are looking nice. I have some G13-Haze seeds and Mazar seeds coming for the next grow. I cant wait to start right from seeds again. A good mother started from seed has been needed. The mothers should be ready to give this table some good clones by the next go.

I'll have pics posted tomorrow or maybe tonight.

Hey Saine, did you ever diagnose your leaf problems...
I'm curious about your watering cycle, ppms, and how
often you change out your res....

The leafs problems were there when I got the clones, but the new growth seems to be showing signs of much improvement. In the next week before the switch I will be watching closely. My ppms now are at 800 moving to 900 my res is changed every 7 days never more than 10. My water cycle with just clay I would flood 3 times a day then dropping to 2 in flower. Now with the mix of mediums at this time I flood 1 time, which is enough for the cubes and then hand water 2 more times a day by hand the buckets. My other table is and will stay all cubes so these will move there. Any thoughts on the leaf issues? The White Russian was the ugliest, but promised to be a beauty. I only got 2 of them 1 to flower and one to keep in case a mother is worthy.

I don't use buckets, so can't really give advice on those. I would think
if they are putting out new healthy leaf sets, your on top of things.

All of your Cubes look healthy though...that cycle is perfect, same as
mine. Ebb&Flo is solid in my opinion...I've never had a problem with it...
Maybe next grow you can stick with the cubes and dump the buckets.
