    DIY CFL Fixtures

yo lifted - go to your local big box hardware store and find a 6' grounded power cord. take the back off the vanity fixture by removing the little circle things around each socket on the front. mine just slid off, but some unscrew. then you can separate the back and front of the fixture. the...

How Long Until I See Flowers?

you could've killed it. from what you wrote, you topped around the day you started flowering (big no-no). your plant could start doing some crazy shit... or never do anything at all.

    Pleas help!

its likely that the water filter, coupled with boiling, has reduced your waters' micronutrients to non-existent levels. try your tap water (unless its toxic :blsmoke:) or, also likely, you've overwatered and/or nuted them too fast. i don't think plants that young should be seeing any nutes. you...

    DIY CFL Fixtures

oh don't get me wrong, man. yours is quite clever and probably perfect for what you do. i was only throwing my hat in the ring as another DIY CFL fixture. too many people see pics of my lights and are confused, but it really is so simple. +rep for your nice single-plant fixture. :bigjoint:

    First Time Grower w/ Questions?!

say no to ebay. they have been known to report (large) purchases of grow supplies to the feds. yes the mini fridge would work, but heat from lights could be a problem. might be able to get away with a 250W HPS, but i'd use use a 150W if you went with HID lighting. definitely invest in a good...

    Need Help!

    1. no. that low of a kelvin rating means they're better for flower. 5500k or 6500k is good for veg 2. 8-4-4 3. plain water, plain water, water with nutes, repeat 4. only if they're 5500k or higher (no higher than 6500k. don't use aquarium ((10000k)) lighting)

    Anyone use Canna Nutes?

hey- relatively new poster on RIU. so, hello all. so, has/does anyone use(d) Canna brand nutrients? more specifically, the aqua vega (parts A & B), and the aqua flores (parts A & B)? i posed this query on another site, and no one that uses or has used Canna nutes has answered. just folks who...

    untangling roots for transplant, cuting

a good method i've found is to completely submerge the roots in proper pH water. then a gentle swish and tug should seperate the roots. this is nearly shock free and even better if you have an airstone in with the water.

    Young plants' leaves drying up

90% of water in the usa doesn't contain chlorine. it has chloramine, which isn't harmful to plants, only fish. try covering your babies with a clear drinking glass after a light foliar misting to inhibit their rate of transpiration. if this doesn't help, i'd consider restarting them. shocks like...

newb here First time grow just trying to get it right

ok, in order: 1. those are 3-bulb vanity fixtures with Y-splitters in each socket. 2. each fixture was 9.99 at menards. the splitters were 1.29 at menards. an individual grounded power cord is 6.99. 3. while we're on the subject, it looks as if you're planning a setup similar to miner . i grow...

newb here First time grow just trying to get it right

hey- my first post on here. hooray! one or two (even stout) CFLs might not do the trick. maybe if you get 2 42W CFLs in 6500k, that might get you through veg. but for flower, i strongly reccomend this setup.
