Ive seen CFLs do the job and that they will, but the amount of light to the amount of heat sucks, i think its there spiral desgin makes for alot of light hiting light wich makes lots of heat. OH also look into T5s, its what im useing now and so far there makeing my buds plump, not as dense as id...

You did the right thing, alot times if a branch is not completly cut off if can be taped on and will continue nomraly on strong.
