Yeah you need a cool-tube or cool-hood for sure. You can let your plants get closer to the light which increases growth. It depends on how big your plants get on how many you can fit. For typical I would say 6 in 5gal buckets.

How are you reading your temps? IR thermometers will give you a better number. Normal thermos will heat up a little when placed under the light because they can absorb heat. 88 is pretty hot an not ideal for growth. Some strains might suffer while others will be fine. You want to keep it below...

The light needs to be closer not necessarily stronger.

You need a fan and you need more light. The plant stretches from lack of light. The stem can grow weak because there is no air movement to challenge it. You should transplant or at least put more soil on top around the plant. It does look weak to transplant good luck.

Ultimately its your call. Since its the same strain there is a chance you could get a clone started before that one comes around. If you have the space keep it. If you need more space get rid of it.
