first grow 1st week problem

hello everybody this is my first grow. my plant is in its 1st week i think saturday will be day 6. she(hopefully) is in a gallon of milk jugg cut in half with miracle gro sphagnum moss, perlite, and organic choice. i know MG isnt good but its all i had available. it had has developed its first real set of leaves and just starting its next. the beginning round leaves seem like there almost ready to fall off.

anyway my problem is the plant is kinda stretchy. at first i had a cfl high above it and this is why it stretched at first but i corrected it after day 1. the stem is pretty thin and droops to one side. what is this from?

i am planning on transplanting into a better and bigger pot real soon but i wanna know when the best time is?

here are some pics

either transplant and bury her deep or put a stake in the pot for support and tie her to it. If she folds over and gets a pinch in the stem, it's an open door for damping off fungus. Had that happed several times.

you think it would be safe to transplant at this stage in its growth?

You need a fan and you need more light. The plant stretches from lack of light. The stem can grow weak because there is no air movement to challenge it.
You should transplant or at least put more soil on top around the plant. It does look weak to transplant good luck.

i have 4 26 w cfl 6500k and one 2700k 13w on it. sorry i forgot to mention that and i do have a fan blowing a nice breeze on it

I'd let them get a little stronger before transplanting, I use half gal pots up to 4 weeks. In the meantime, if miracle gro is what you've got, then I'd mix up my next batch of soil now so it has time to cook.

i know MG isnt good but its all i had available.
Miracle gro organic choice potting mix isn't a bad soil. It just needs some ammendments to grow plants. It's supposed to be a base, not meant to be used alone... MG has a whole lineup of Organic Choice products, that are meant to be used in conjunction with each other. Bloodmeal, bonemeal, perlite... basically giving you full control over your soil. Use dolomite lime in your soil too, 1 cup per cubic ft (16 quarts) of dirt.

If you mix your soil now and let it sit for 2-3 weeks while your plants get strong the nutrients will begin to break down just in time for transplanting. Organics are easy, they just need water and maybe a little molasses from seed to harvest.

Good luck with your plants. :leaf:

im going to take your advise on mixing up the next batch of soil. ill do it first thing tomorrow thank you!

only options i have are MG seed starting soil, perlite, sphagnum peat moss, organic choice, moisture control and some other brand of some sort of cactus soil.
ive already spent a decent amount of money on this first shot (partly my fault) and im not spending anymore on soil sorry. next time i am deff going to get some quality organic soil. my next purchases are going to be ph meter and a 24/7 timer

and thats the end of my shopping list besides a bunch of 2700k bulbs when flowering time comes around
