Built my own growbox, inner dimensions are 22.5" x 22.5" x 50"

Put in 2 clones march 16th about 3" tall, originally had them in a bathroom sink cabinet I converted using an LED and a couple CFL lights. The Jedi is on the left, the Deadhead on the right.

Moved over to the new box, cant use HPS yet because of heat issues, had to order a big ass inline fan:

Deadhead:IMG_20130329_093319_817_zps18d1a475.jpg

Deadhead just never really put down good roots, had to pull her :(

Jedi on the other hand is doing great:

Still waiting for more airflow, so using LED +CFL:

Alright, got it cool enough to put in the HPS, but barely, sits at 90 during the day w/ light on but the Jedi seems to love it:

Got a new cooltube and can now keep the temps ~82 :

So I put her in the dirt about 1 month ago, size wize I am not sure if I was hurt by the LED or not since this is my first grow.

Considering moving over to flower at the end of this week since this is my first grow. Will take a few cuttings before the switch and see if I can get some clones going.

Grabbed a few clippings for clones today and this will be her last day of veg lights, after they go out today I will give her 24hours of dark and switch to 12-12. I would have kept vegging longer since I have a bunch of vertical space left, but she is already scrapping all four sides horizontally and my fans are having a hard time moving the entire canopy of the plant (I think the circulation is much better with the door closed).

Quick pic update, switched to 12/12 on the evening of 4/19 so started on 4/20 really :)

I will try to get some pics outside of the hps light if I can before lights out today.

Here are more complete pics, not sure if she needs more nutes or not but growth seems good.

4 Days since 12-12 switch and loaded with pre-flowers. She is looking so bushy I just want to stick my face in there for a quick motorboat :)

Switching to flowering nutes on my next watering, which will probably be tomorrow. My soil is so light that she needs water pretty much every day. I may have put a little bit to much perlite in there, but it seems to be working. I may toss a little more FFOF on top to see if that helps retain water a bit longer, or I may fashion a cover for the dirt with the Reflectix to see if that helps retain water in the soil.

You can see the canopy is not that even, adjusted the light and did some more training to try to maximize penetration.

Looking niice!!How many watts on that cool tube? Does it get pretty hot in that small space? Im buying one just like it in a few days :D

How will you manage odor?

It is a 400w and with the fan I have in there now it stays about 80-82 during lights on, gets down to 68 with lights off which I think is about right to replicate a good day/night cycle.

I built a DIY carbon scrubber but I have it connected to the exhaust so it acts as a muffler and I also have a jar of ono gel in the cab itself. It works pretty well except occasionally I will get a whiff of something in the room, seems worse about 30 minutes after the lights turn off.

For the scrubber I built using the following:

Carbon pad w/ grate
6" connecting collar
6" cap
Additional carbon pad

I used the plastic grate from the pad to formed a cylinder by wire tying it together and putting the cap on collar on each end. I then used duct tape to hold them together and wrapped the carbon filter around the grate cylinder. I also used the second carbon pad and rolled it up and stuffed it into the cylinder for some additional filtration.

All in, it cost about $26

New pics, she is getting a bit unwieldy. Wrapping her around the pot more to try to keep canopy under control. I need to go out and find some netting to put over the top but afraid if I mount against the walls like I intended, I will not be able to pull her out of the cab for flushing. I may get a metal tomato trellis that I can stick in the pot and bend over the top. Time for a run to HD.

Switched over to Flower nutes last night using 1/3 dose for now. Next watering I will also add in some unsulfered blackstrap molasses for a little boost to the microbes in the soil.

Full cab shot, I have since removed the bucket she is sitting on and put in a new oscillating tower fan

Looking great. How well is your cool tube directing the light to the plants? Are you happy with it? Purchasing my 600w cool tube tonight.

Very happy with it, I have a small cab so the shorter tube works well. If I had a larger space a longer tube would probably be better. As it is I will be stretching to get 2 plants in my 2x2

Sad news :( I went to check on things this morning and was shocked to see some very droopy and sad looking leaves on one side:

IMG_20130429_090636_396_zps1b78fd6e.jpg

As it turns out, I had a snapped brand very low on the main stem ( the first one as it ends up) that was almost completely twisted off. This must have happened after the watering last night right after lights on, though I did not realize I had given it that much pressure, it is so dense near the soil that I need to move the branches quite a bit just to be able to water.

here is the stem where the branch cam off:
IMG_20130429_090951_814_zps9af1783f.jpg

And here is the section that I removed :(
IMG_20130429_091016_238_zpsd0ccd22f.jpg

I cut off the strongest looking two pieces and stuck them in some soil under 24x7 CFL lights to see if I can get anything going:

I don't have high hopes for the roots to take, but figured it was better to try than just toss the entire section out :(

Added a rack to hopefully keep the canopy contained, so far this should keep the canopy within the 18" sweetspot so I will continue to have good light penetration

IMG_20130501_102430_846_zps600ae060.jpg

Otherwise things are looking good, starting to see some small flowers develop.

IMG_20130501_091139_146_zps0a4abeba.jpg

My little fan is starting to get overrun, not sure if this is going to cause circulation problems as they cant quite penetrate the "bush". I moved the little fan to the back on top of the rack blowing down, and have the oscillating tower fan just buried in the lower right corner trying to blow through the lower section. Do you think I will have problems the way it is set up?

Next time I will need to try to plan my LST a little better rather than just trying to get it as full as possible. I cant imagine if both of my plants had actually made it this far.

Lookin good. With LST I have had the best luck pruning one side of the plant side trained down) that way there is enough air flow below the canopy as well as better light penetration. Might try turning the fan around, directing it into the corner. That may better distribute the air by reflecting off the two walls .

On your way!

I forgot to mention, I never noticed this before, but I watered her this morning instead of last night. I noticed about 1-2 hours after watering that quite a few roots came out of the bottom of the pot about half an inch where the run off water was (still slightly damp but the run off was all gone) I am 12 days into flowering, is this a problem with it being root bound? Should I consider moving to a 5gallon bucket from my 3 gallon fabric bag?

Tough call. Still relatively early in flower but I wouldn't transplant again if I didn't have to. Can you pop her out of the pot to see if she is root bound? You are going to see some spin out but if she is seriously root bound at this point she won't grow a whole lot more. Not a clear-cut answer to this one.
