This will be my first grow ever attempted.

I have been told it is a cross between Silver Kush, Black Kush, and GrapeApe, though I cannot attest to the true genetics, I guess time will tell.

The seedling were germinated in a bowl with tap water and then placed in COCOHUSK seed starters. they sprouted fast, but the light was further than should have been so many stretched and some died off. The light was adjusted for this and the elongated seedlings where -re potted a little deeper. After re potting they began to grow steadily after about 3 days.

We had Four T5 FLORO Tube lights with daytime deluxe bulbs on all the plants which were on a 24 light cycle for 3 to four weeks at this point, and a fan for light breeze and to move the air.

As for the Hydro unit that was started, the seedlings took root almost in a day and sprouted in less than 48 hours. within four days we had little leaves forming. it is a shame we wont be able to keep the hyrdo going any longer.

We have been watering them with pH checked water with very very very light nutrients (I can even stress how little), and also watering with seltzer water.
Once we started watering with the seltzer they started growing way faster.

We have been using the Nutrients as instructed by a local grower and friend who has helped us a little along the way, for the hydro setup but it was only going for a week and a half, so it was never changed.

The soil has been a ragtag mix of all different organic mixes, some promix, and some sphagnum peat moss

QUESTIONS:

1. Some of the plants do seem to have weird yellow almost rot( will get photo).
and some seem to be odd shaped "retard" plants, with very round almost not cannabis type leaves and leaves that seem to be merged together.

Can anyone tell me what this may be?

2. The plants have experienced two occurrences in which the breaker to the room we had everything drawing off of flipped. We have no idea as to how long the lights were off for as they were on a 24 hour cycle at this point. But you can bet they were put immediately back onto the 24 light cycle.

Could this be a serious issue? they have continued growing after this.

3. Is it normal for them to already have a slight "skunk" scent underlying with the natural "green plant" smell that all plants seem to have. I mean I know they are stinky plants it just seems soon, or like I may have accidentally put them into a different phase.

They were obviously started indoors, but as due to a grow location issue had to be moved outdoors and that would be where we are at today.

I will post pictures now and I would love some general advice or constructive criticism

54 views, not one reply....

That's how it goes LOL. Looks pretty good I don't see any mutants in the pics. They may grow out of it as they get older. You should be allright, the plants grow for a while before they would flower even under 12/12 light and I don't think a small break will impact them since they are immature anyways. I love the stinky ones, tthey are usually the keepers so keep an eye out on it. I got one about your size that's skunky too.

Yeah, I suppose your right some of these threads have thousands of views and only a hand full of replys. I am just being impatient, lol. The mutants seem to be growing a normal set or leaves now, they just looked hella odd at first.

I have since moved these plants outdoors yesterday 6/5/2011. The temperature dipped to about 48degrees Fahrenheit last night. I am sorta worried.

I have a few photos to post of some weird shaped leaves and such.

I also wanted to show you overall how many plants I have left, and general health after a night outside.

The plants seemed to have grown after two full days in the sun and one night with a low of 48degrees

Does anyone know what this means for my leaves?

Nothing I'd be too concerned with. Leaves a lot of times have some twists or bends it shouldn't effect potency or growth though. I wish I had an outdoor spot to plant a bunch of babies. They are troopers to thrive even in a drastic change in environment. I noticed the shade, how much direct light do they get? Are they going to end up staying where they are?

i took this photo about ten minutes before it was uploaded, the sun was going down and its behind some high trees, I have however, cleared quite a bit of the surrounding vegetation to give it more sun.

During the day it starts getting almost direct sunlight at around 830am, and doesnt really lose that direct light until about 530-600pm. and yeah they will most likely be planted in either rows into the ground, or haphazardly into rows, depends how stoned we are when we dig the holes. we wanted to leave them in the pots for a week or two, so if we needed to move them or anything.

i just wanted to make sure i wasnt nute burning them or over watering.

the plants are on a hill that faces either north or south so that they are under the sun for most of the day.

We are at the point today were i believe we will be transplanting our lovely little ladies into the ground.

Should we

A. DIG HOLES and fill those with soil....

B. Make large mounds or rows of soil raised above the normal soil on the ground?

C. your idea.....

Will these even have an affect on the growth?

I would really love some advice from some New England area growers. Particularly in the NEW HAMPSHIRE / MASSACHUSETTS BORDER REGION.

i would dig holes and backfill with some good soil. or big containers w/good drainage. i dont think raised soil on the ground would do very well. especially holding water....im fairly close to you and im also about ready to put mine in the ground.

I think I am going to go with digging holes as well. I just happened to see a Jorge Cervantes video in which his GIANT bushes were in raised soil irrigation type rows.

Now that I think about it the wind around here sometimes could get to be an issue with knocking over plants if they were in raised beds.

These photos were taken on 6/15/2011. Right before transplant.

These photos were taken today. 6/24/2011.

It has been raining a lot this last week in the Southern New Hampshire/ Massachusetts border region. I fear it may be stunting the growth of my plants. But they are doing well so maybe I am just impatient.

I just feel like the plants aren't very bushy.

Also does anyone have an idea on strain type based on the plant growth. I know i said I know the strain name, But I am a skeptic with most things and just wanted a second opinion.

I am thinking it is an indica, but I can't be to certain.

They are skunky as fuck by the way.

Hey what's up. Looks good I think your right about them being overwatered. Is there a way to cover them sometimes or something? I hope the conditions where you are isn't too wet in the fall that could lead to bud rot.they look like they need some bright sunshine to me, good luck. i assume there will be a lot of variation since their so many strains in the gene pool. From the sounds of it it's mostly indica but really might be all over the place. Where we they bred?

They were grown by a guy in California in his beginning stages of breeding from what i was told. But i know he is pretty good at it as he has this strain called Darth Tone, it is all black based, like literally, black and maroon. even the plant not just the buds. and it is some of the most potent shit I have ever consumed.

I know a bunch of people who got the bag seeds in my area and are growing this strain.

The buds from one of the old mature plants were dank as fuck, thats actually where i got the seeds from, the bag of buds they came from the plants hermyed very very late. and cause there to be some seeds. The buds themselves were off the wall and many colors.

As far as my plants are going. I think they definitely need some sunshine. Its been raining forever it seems like here. I know summer just started two days ago, BUT DAMN.

I have a feeling these plants are going to get very tall. I dug the ground underneath them down three feet and filled it with peat moss and soil vermiculite mix. so they have a shit ton of root room.

i think they look pretty healthy considering the weather. i think you may have put them a little close together in the ground but thats just my opinion. well if they are not sexed you will be pulling some males.

the one in the 8th pic looks very nice. keep up the good work.

im in new england as well. and threw a fwe plants outdoors... havent checked on thenm yet. a lil worried due to all the rain we've been havin. gott put sum more outside too soo i needa check everythign out 2day. but urs look good so far man. u doin this guerilla style? or in ur bakyard?
