Feminized Aurora Indica & Papaya Mother plant journal, w/PICs

OK everyone here I go! I will do my best to give a picture up date at least once a week on Thursday.. All comments, criticism, and advice are welcome! Just don't be a dick! LOL :finger:

I'll have to go back in time for a bit as my plants are now already three week old. I started by germinating my seed using the paper towel method. After 24 hours in a moist paper towel the seeds cracked. Then I put them in 5" round pots filled with my favorite soil Black Gold Organic potting mix. The plants were then placed under 4 x 23watt CFL's 6500k lights, on a 18/6 lighting cycle. When the top of the soil was dry I watered with only plain PHed water with H202. bongsmilie

The plants are now, three weeks old and I just transplanted them to 1 gal. white Poly grow bags. They have a very strong root system, and are just now starting to hit their growth spurt. So I gave them their first dose of 1/4 strength nutes ( Grow Big & Big Bloom from Fox Farm). I also fimmed them about a week ago at the 5th node (see pic). The are all coming back very nicely. :leaf:

After I transplanted the mother plants I changed the lights to a 400watt MH conversion light, still on a 18/6 light cycle. I put the light about 2 feet away from the plants for now, and as they grow I will slowly move it closer to about 15'' . That's all I can think of for now, I'll add some pics and If I think of more to say or if something happens I will add it. Thanks :mrgreen:

hell yeaaa mother fucker.. I'm the 1st person to post here..w ell.. besides you of course. lol. But they look good man. Very very healthy lookin. hopefully the soil works good for you.. wait... are u keepin them in the soil?? or r u tryin to do another hydro grow?? not sure if u said that sumwea. lol.

and p.s.... your cat looks JUST like my moms cat.. "Bageerah" (from the Jungle Book.. the black panther?) lol. I'll take a pic of him and post it up here.. they look the same.

Yes, I am keeping my mother plants in Black Gold organic potting mix. When the time come to cut clone I will put one each Aurora & Papaya In my 10 gal. hydro tote. I will also be trying to do my first screen of green with one each Aurora & Papaya, in Black Gold soil. I will start a new journal for both, I'll let you know! I have always used Black Gold Organic potting mix with great results. When It comes to soil I only use the black gold. ;-)

My cat's name is Scooter she is sold black with yellow eyes. The perfect Halloween cat. She loves to sun bath under my HID's LOL :peace:

I think they are all closer to 4 weeks old now, but I could be off by as much as 4 days! I was not planing on making a mother plant journal, so I never marked the date I sowed the seeds. But anyway they are really taking off now! They are all about 8 inches tall and the fim on all of them worked perfectly. All the plants have at least 4 tops not including lower branches!

I was wicked surprised to see roots poking out of the bottom of the 1 gal grow bags after only 4 days! The pic below is 6 days after transplant! I plant on transplanting again tonight to a 3 gal. black plastic pot.

heyy man. Wow.. theyre taking off now!! Thats crazy tho that the roots came through that fast. My last grow waslike that. I transplanted them into a pot 3 times the size.. and within a few days.. roots were pokin through! YOur plants look so green! Im jealouS! lol Keep up the good work man!

I haven't been giving them much nutes, and when I do I never mix full strength. I also have been foliar feeding every 3-4 days at night after the lights go out, making sure to get the tops and bottoms of the leaves. that might be why they are so green. My cuz said the same thing, that they are real green, and the stem is real fat too I'll add a pic of stems later!

Since I have two Aurora plants I am going to pick one to flower at about 12 inches. At that time I plan on moving my two mother plants back to my closet, and put them under my new 4 foot florescent light (That I have not bought yet, but I did pick it out!). Niiiice. I like them! I wqas gonna say.. if your gonna spend 150.. why not get a 400 wathh HPS with an MH Converion bulb...? But i was reading through the description, and it was sayin that those lights "out-produce" HID lights..? Never would have thought that.

I WISH I remembered the link to this journal I looked at last night... it was some girl.. who had a White Widow pla.. and she took 2 clones, at the same time, and they were the same tize.. and she put 1 under a 400 watt HPS.. and another under the T-5 Floro's... to compare yeild and quality. The HPS had a bigger yeild.. BUT.. it was only by 3-4 grams. And she was talkin about how the Floros use a lot less electricity.. and how heat is a problem with the HPS, and you dont have to worry about it as much with the Floro's... And she always said the HPS Plant grew taller (Stretched) and the Floro Plant stayed shorter and stalkier.. She had pics too. Wish I could remember the link.

If for some reason I find it I'll send you a link.. but I doubt I'l find it.

But I deff like the lights.. A Alot! When you gonna buy them?

Yea exactly right. In my bathroom I can use my 400 watt HPS & MH because I have a vent fan running to the out side. But my veg room is a closet with no vents, and heat would be a problem. So after much consideration I decided to use the 400 watt HID in the bathroom and to get the florescent for the closet. I figure with the 4 foot i can set the light at an angel and it can do my mother plants as well as clones & other vegging plants. Plus what I like is the low profile & silent features of the light.

Hopefully if all goes as planed in two weeks I will buy it!!

I'm still havin trouble with my school money situation.. they're fucking me.. :cry:

I have to send in all kinda stupid fuckin forms.. ughhh. it a pain in the ass.. I gotta wait for forms to come in the mail.. fill them out and sign them.. then send them to my school, adn wait for them to send to more paperwork.. fill that out.. adn then re-send it to them.. :roll:

THEN they will start my money process.. which can take from 2-8 weeks... thats a big fucking gap! lol. 14 days or 56..!!?? :-?

Sooo im more or less hopin to get this job as Aaorons.. and start makin almost $500 a week.. I'll be able to buy mmy HPS in no time! and I'll be goooood. :blsmoke:

Maybe I didn't mention it. I bought the HTG Supply Ultimate 400w HPS & MH Grow Light, about 4 months ago. The first time was with my homemade aeroponic system, when my plants got root rot from light seeping in to the tote. On my next try I used 4 bag seed plants, and 3 ended up male and the forth was a hermaphrodite. lol Now its my third try, I have feminized seeds so I have no excuses. LOL :dunce:

My plants are now about 4 weeks old. I just finished transplanting them from 1 gallon white poly grow bags, to 3 gallon black plastic pots. As you can see in the pics the root systems are doing very well, they love the Black Gold Organic potting mix I use ( and I do too). I have to mention; make sure when transplanting to tap around the edge of the pot to make sure the soil fills the pot with out leaving any voids. I forgot to do this with the first one and had to go back and fix it.
I started by filling a 5 gallon bucket with Black Gold, 2/3 of the way. Then I added PHed & H202ed water to the soil and mixed it in. When its nice and wet but not too wet I filled the bottom 4-6 inches of the 3 gallon pot. I then put my fingers around the stem of the plant to be transplanted and I tip it up side down, over the bucket. I slowly remove the grow-bag from the plant and gently place the root ball in the 3 gallon pot. Now I add soil around the side of the pot making sure to tap the side of the pot so the soil will fill all the voids in the pot. After that is done I water well until water drips out the bottom of the pot. I did that to all three plants and then I was done. So I smoked a fatty and took some pics and here I am. :eyesmoke:

They look bad ass now in their new pots! Cant wait to cut some clones and start flowering. I never used "good seeds" before only bag seeds, so I'm really looking forward to enjoying both strains! :joint:

Looking good man!! =-D Glad to see everything going good for ya this time around.. and like u said.. No Exuses this time!! lol =p It's funny how alike our grows were/are. This is also my 1st grow with "good" feminized seeds. Last grow was 6 plants.. 4 went male, and 2 went hermie.. and the grow before that.. ALL 4 went hermie.. but I grew the 3 biggest ones out anywayz.. and my avatar pic is what I got from 2.. and the otha 1 I havested 2 weeks later.

But yeaa. thpse roots look great man! very nice color.. I gotta ask tho.. when you took them out.. did you take a pair of scissors and make cuts into the bottom of the roots??? I did that, adn I've been doing that,a nd supposedly it helps the roots grow faster. Cuz wen u transplant.. theyre all tight and still in the form of the pot/grow bag.. but if you make a few cuts.. they will start growing much faster... if you didnt its find.. they'll be fine. lol. dont wanna scare ya. but just wonderig if ya did?and if not.. well, now you know for next time! lol.

Also.. I wanted to ask.. how did those grow bags work?? those are the ones from HTG Supply right?? I was thinking about orderin some 3 gallon ones soon...

Yes, normally I would have cut the roots, 4 cuts at north, south , east, and west, at an angle. But this time I did not and this is why; I had only transplanted these three plants about a week ago into the 1 gal. grow bags, from a 4 inch pot so the roots were already loose. I probably could have waited another week or so before I transplanted. It dose help to cut the roots on well rooted plants or root bound plants for sure!
Yes I am using the white poly grow bags from HTG, and they work bad ass. I was surprised they work so well. I got the 1 and the 3 gallon ones. I would have used the 3 gal. grow bags for my transplants but I figured that my mother would be better off in a traditional pot instead. The grow bags look deceiving, meaning they look smaller than they actually are. At first I thought that there was no way the 1 gal was a 1 gal, then I started filling with soil, and I was convinced. The grow bags quickly sucked up a whole bag of soil! LOL I would definitely recommend grow bags to a friend! bongsmilie

If you transplant your plant a little too deep ( like it did), you can just cut around the top of the bag, and you have a custom fit. You can also reuse the grow bags, I have already. And when you give a plant to a friend you can just give them bag and all! :eyesmoke:

I found this garden rack in my garage and as soon as I saw it in the corner of my eye, I swear...It was like someone turned on the lights. I got an Idea.. :idea:

...Scrog or Screen of green. What I'm thinking is I have two Aurora Indica plants. I can use one as a mother and I will take the other and try a Scrog with it. I have read a bunch about it but I never tried it for my self. I have one plant specially in mind for the task. One Aurora Indica plant is smaller and has lots of tops on her already, so I will use this one. I'm going to fuck around with it right now for a wile and see what I can do. Here is a pic of the garden rack I plan on using! Don't you think It will work perfect for a Scrog? I do! :eyesmoke:

I set up a Scrog grow out of one of my Feminized Aurora Indica plants. I did it last night on a whim.. (that seems to be when I do my best work! lol on a whim). Anyways you can check out the pics.
I also had to move my two mother plants back into the closet under 6500k CFL's. I am using 2 23watt CFL's per plant and reflector. I will very soon have to buy the 4 foot florescent light fixture I need & want so badly.

wow.. that thing IS fucking perfect!! r u gonna put the plant on the floor?? or on the rack?? but yeaa. I read up alot on it wen I was gonna do it.. but like I said.. I did it wihth strings.. soo it didnt come out that good. lol. but I would deff go 4 it.. Just think of it this way.. it cant make you yield any less??? Soo the worse that will happen is u will yield the same amount as u would without the screen.. But i think you'll do fine! Good Luck!! Cant wait to see it in action!

I cut my first clones yesterday. Well, not my very first, but my first off these two mother plants. I started with Aurora Indica, and I took four clones off of her. They were just a little smaller than I usually would have cut them, but I'm sure they will root just fine. I am using Olivia's Cloning Gel, and a brand new scalpel blade (which I like a lot). :blsmoke:

I was only able to cut two clones from the Papaya! I like to cut above a node and leave the branch topped when cutting clones off of a mother plant. This will make het bush out like a mother fucker! I cut my clones, dipped them in cloning gel, and stuck them in Rapid Rooters. Sprayed them with H202ed water, put them in a humidity dome, on top of a heating mat. In one to two weeks I will see roots poking out the side of the Rapid Rooters, and then I will plant them in Black Gold Organic potting mix, or into my hydro set up! I haven't decided yet. :lol:

The clones are doing good. They never drooped, as they often do after cutting them. Its only been a few days so their is not any root growth yet, but I'm checking every day! :leaf:

The mother plants are now about 9-10 inches tall, and I will be taking my next clones off of the top (probably). The mothers look so nice, I wish I could flower them. But I know I need them for clones, so I can't......yet LOL :leaf:

OHH yea I just remembered I bought some super skunk!! I was wanting this originally but I settled on Aurora & Papaya instead. ! :weed:

I Super-cropped both my mother plants yesterday! I'm going to take some pics and then I'll come back and update! But so far they are responding very nicely, and they looks bad ass. So bad ass, I been thinking on just flowering them, but I know I cant do that with spring around the corner..LOL I'll be back In about a hour...you know what I'm doing..... :bigjoint:
