The Captian's Log

We are at day 32 of flower and things are going well. Since I moved the light away from the girls, the SC has really started to let off a fruity smell, a fruity skunk smell that I really like. I almost wish I had some drama to report but everything is growin well.

I did start a program of refilling my res everyday with fresh nutes in stead of RO in between rez changes, every two days they get a gallon each. The only issue is that its been difficult to exactly match the PH from day to day, Like one day it will be PH'd at 5.8, the next day 6.0, etc. Luckily most nutes are available between 5.8 and 6.5 so I have a range but still it makes me wonder. The cheese is going much more slowly than the others, odd because outside she finished a little later but was neck in neck with the DQ and CK I have grown outside, the SC cut I have is just an awesome grower in or out, a bit of a mutant, really cause SC supposedly doesnt yield well but she has always produced well...

I am heading up to a couple dispensaries today, there is a HUGE amount of outdoor around right now, alot more than I have seen in a long time, must have been some huge yields this season.

I am taking pics now and will upload them a little later this afternoon because I have a dr.'s appointment and then I head south for a bit.

Absolutely gorgeous, Cap'n!

Your plants are so symmetrical(relatively speaking)and perfect they don't even look real.

I'm pumped for ya', man.

Thanks Mcfunk, the comments are appreciated, as growers we put alot of work into our babies and it always feels good to be recognized as well as have another set of eyes to double check that things are going as well as they seem.

You have talent my friend. Already snow capped buds and perfect huge leaves spread through out. I hope you are up for sharing some of your cure techniques when the time comes because this grow is insanely nice.

Wow, many thanks bro.

The cure is always the toughest part for me because as the old saying goes "smoke you grow yourself smokes 10 times better than smoke paid for" so its tough for me to keep my hands off of it, always smelling, sampling, tasting...lol....besides jiu jitsu and my family, cannabis is my biggest passion and its really easy to do something that you have passion for.

namaste,

Jiu Jitsu! Nice! I take Krav Maga myself, and a couple guys try to drag me into the Jiu Jitsu class that follows ours and I am always more than happy to say no thanks. :) That shit is grueling. Oop, am I jacking your thread?

Does anyone here know any good krav maga classes? :P

Again, badass grow, and I agree entirely with your point about passion and results.

Wow man, yeah you have a nice grow happening here! Those buds are looking reallllly dank :leaf::leaf::leaf:

I hear you on the curing too, I am like a kid on Christmas, constantly picking up my presents and shaking them lol. Love peeking in the close to inspect and smell the crop, see how it is coming along. It is gonna be really hard to leave it in jars and not smoke it :bigjoint:

Captain... I don't know if there is any more room on the ship... but I'm signing up to be a deck hand. I just can't leave those pretty girls you have growing. What a nice looking bunch... and what a selection of strains. One day I'd love to smoke some Captains Kush. I'll have to make my own strain to return the favor.

About a week late, but I don't think there is anyway those yellow leaves are getting light bleached. I'm almost positive it's a nutrient thing... but not something I would worry about. Should hang on long enough, and be just right for harvest. Maybe don't flush that plant as much as the rest.

As much as I'm stoked to see this grow finish up... I'm so looking forward to seeing that outdoor plant get bigger. Is there a plan for when it's outdoors... will the circles be held up by some stakes and spiraled outwards? It's fun to think about.

Thanks much to Fred for turning me onto your journal... I had a great time reading through, and will have a great time from here on out.

Thanks, igrow, the compliments mean alot. The curing process is where your patience is tested, I think, in alot of ways more so than during the actual grow because you can always "sneak" a taste or give yourself the old "gotta see how its coming" excuse.

Thanks for stoppin by.

Many thanks jig, you have been around awhile and I'm sure have seen many great grows and very much appreciate the kind words.

The plan for the bondaged cheese girlie is basically to keep directing her growth as low as possible, and spiraling inward, however many rounds it takes until I reach a center, then I will direct the top to grow vertical. The idea is to have a spiral crown of vertical colas, a xmas wreath of cannabis, if you will. I prolly will need to stake her verticals, eventually. That cheese pheno is something that I can acquire more of in a heartbeat so she is expendable, if I mess her up and she dies, it won't affect anything else I got going on.

As to smoking the captain's kush, hopefully, one day that will be possible, I have yet to fully stabilize the strain as I want predictable, consistent phenos from seed. The particular girl I got goin now is a clone from my s2 mamma who is exactly what I am looking for in terms of growth, appetite, finishing speed, etc. She also shows a genetic trait that makes her super easy to top for multi colas. She was only topped twice, at the 4th and 6th node and is doing exactly what I wanted her to do, make 4 12+ inch buds with no side branching. No popcorn for hash but those buds will be super dense and a great smoke when cured up.

As to the burned SC...I gotta admit that I am on the fence on what cause the leaves to yellow like that. The only reason I am doubting a nute def is because she eats like a pig, get double the strength nutes as the dream queen, I havent ever burned her, I mean, like I say, she is a pig. I will of course, keep monitoring her ;)

Hellz yeah buddy :) I like the license! If it helps your paranoia, first cannabis coffee shop opened up in Portland! 25 dollar per mo. membership for free weed when you visit and then pay for food. Wonder if that stuff is shwag or not? ;)

Very nice man! I have no doubts it tastes great by the way it looked. My hats off to you sir:clap:. Are you running anything right now?
Also, are you in So Cal? You mentioned visiting dispensaries. I am in Nor Cal and these up here are still stuck with their outdoor. I went to "donate" my extra meds from my last grow and they don't want any chronic right now, which is wierd.. but I figure it is because they are stuck with so much outdoor that they don't want to put some killer indoor next to it and expect people to take the fluffy outdoor. Don't know.

Anyway, thanks for the update brother!:-P
