DubB83's SoG Log

So here is where my grow log will reside, when I change something or alter anything it will be noted here when time permits, and as with all of my threads... plenty of pictures!

Just reserving a space. I plan to chronicle the last of the current cycle in my system and the cycles after that.

Pictures coming either tomorrow or Saturday.

I'll just give you an overview of what all is going on here.

I grow my mother plants.

I take a clone from my mother plant and place it in a ziplock bag until it sprouts roots.
See my clone thread.

When it shows roots I put it in a net cup, then it goes in my clone system to finish developing roots.


When it has a number of healthy stringy roots I transfer into a larger net cup and add hydroton.


It then goes in the next area of my cloner/vegger unit.


To develop more roots.


When it develops roots I transfer it into the flowering system.




A few weeks later I have this:


Now that everyone is up to speed all of the following posts will go into detail of what I'm doing and when.

Saturday I did a flowering system flush with tap water and Sunday I added new nutes. Here are picture updates:

Because of my illness and time constraints I have hired a gardener. It is an old family friend that wants to drop off the map. He will be taking over the maintenance of the garden for me starting after the 15th. I will still be posting on here regularly. I feel that I need an apprentice and my son is not old enough yet.

Hopefully, after I teach him the ways, the plants will look uniform and there should be no more signs of stress. I will allow him to use my user name on RUI to continue to share my knowledge of growing for me.

Sad to say it, but eventually I will be leaving RUI, but when you gotta go you gotta go... Right?

I know my plants are in need of some TLC and I'm just not able to do it anymore. I am glad I finally got to build and operate the aeroponic system I had been dreaming of for years.

Stinkbud gets big +rep for the fence posts, I was going to try 6" round PVC before I stumbled on his little jewel of a thread.

Thanks for taking a look, I have been thinking about your new 8 plant grow and was wondering if you planned on hydro yet or still going dirt?

I have learned how to make a tiny aeroponic system and will be making some this spring so the kids can grow aeroponic tomatoes outside.

i'll go hydro one of these days, then to aero, but i wanted to get the hang of everything first in soil. Slower response and higher buffer zone than hydro., but i'll get there.

I hope you do it before April or I may never know if you moved up to water cultures or not otherwise.

At least April is what the Dr. says, he could be wrong.

That is part of the reason I have been working so hard on documenting my ways, when I'm gone who will know them? I want to leave some information behind saying, "here I am and look what I knew how to do!". I am also happy that I get to have one last harvest in the system I always wanted.

The biggest goal is to have someone learn something off of what I am preaching.

Someone is going to ask, what good is a SoG when the grower passes on? Well I will be leaving a family and other patients that need my goods as well as a capable gardener to resume my tasks.

I'm terminally ill.

I'm getting to the point where the computer is all I have energy for. I have even gone as far as to fly a friend 1500 miles across the continent to help me.

I cannot give out many details as medical marijuana is not legal in my area.

I would not be here today without it though, I don't/can't eat or sleep without my daily dose of herbal medicine.

I guess you could say bigger or better things, like a garden in the sky!

Look at it this way, I have no fear of being arrested for medicating myself...

Nothing is going to change in the garden for a day or two, I'm re-organizing the plants to fill the system the way I made it to. I really cannot wait until help arrives after the 15th though.

I'm in! No pity my friend just concerns..... Thanks for your threads and the knowledge you have shared. No one deserves to know the time of their own passing but at least you used the time to create your own legecy in your own way. Cheers to you my friend.....

Don't you guys get all sappy on me, I have more pictures to share...

I got up some energy and organized things as well as threw nearly every clone I had under the 600W just for the effect of a full system, and I'm inpatient. I will be taking clones on Wed night, I have been letting the mom plant H1 grow them to be about 6"-8" with more nodes for a better bud. Now that the system is designed all that is left is to follow the pattern and tweak it.

Anyway, on to the picture show, I'll start with the results of the recent shuffle.

So I decided an entire garden of smaller buds, just to get the feel of it full. I will still be taking clones and maybe weeding out the weaker flowering plants with fresh clones.

I'm waiting until tomorrow night to take large clones from the H1 mother plant...
