Organic AF GWS, AK47, WD/ 400hps Stealth cabinet grow

First grow, first everything hehehe
as im already in the third week i will give a general idea first and then i will go back and show parts of my past progress to explain where i am today and to give a general overview!! ive been a smoker for ten years and the time came where i could no longer take anymore going to the dealer or searching to find and in addition smoking shit weed so growing was the only option!! i started researching as much as i could and i stumbled upon my first real decision concerning my grow room and the way i would go!! regular strains need three chambers to be grown in one for vegging and keeping motherplants one for cloning and one for flowering whereas Auto Flowering strains need only one room due to tha fact they go through life under a consistent light scheme of 20/4. as space was a concern for me i had to go with the Auto flowering strains. so i strated researching on what is the best way to go from there i was between choosing to buy a homebox tent or build my own! i went with the second choice DIY so i went to the appropriate store and had wood for a cabinet cut out as i will not go into to detail on how i built i if anyone wants to find out pm me. i ordered all necessary equipment if anyone wants to find out what pm me i ordered the seeds and started building!! it took me more than i expected to build as i had to go through trials and see how it worked and correct as many probs as i could!! my greatest prob from the beggining was heat my cabinet got up to 36c and this wasnt acceptable. so i went out and bought a cooltube a must in my opinion for anyone who wants to grow in a confined space!! my tempts dropped dramatically i now had my room under control temp wise. i had day tempts at 24-26 usually steady around 25c and night temps of 19-20c. but i had no humidity i mean i had under 10% so i went and bought a humidifier to get things up!! i planted some basil and some thyme to test if they would survive and they all grew healthy so that was the starting bell. as i had purchased normal seeds and later on decided that it would be a waste of time space and resources to grow normal seeds i ordered feminized seeds. i however placed one Great white shark seed in wet cotton in order to sow!! i forgot to mention the soil i used. my soil is consisted of two parts the soil1 and soil2 soil1= was a low nutrient soil in which i had added 10% perlite, 5% high N pelecen guano and 5 % california red worm castings, soil2= was cellmax 50l organic compost in which i added 10% perlite, a kilo of zeolite and a kilo of high P bat guano. i placed soil2 on the bottom 3/5 of the 6,5l pots and placed soil1 on top when placing soil1 on top i mixed a small portion about 1/5 with soil2 thus making the low parts of soil about 2,5/5 of soil2 then a layer of about 1,5/5 mixture of soil1&2 and the rest 1/5 with only soil1. so the GWS was sowed a week before the rest and planted in the pot on soil1. i planted my GWS and after a week my feminized seeds arrived so they went straight to sowing. as i had posted some progress on another thread i will copy paste it in messages below because im too bored of rewriting to fit in text!! so seat belts fastened and lets hope this will be a good ride i hope everyone enjoys.

I planted 1 AF great white shark which will be two weeks old on monday, its about 10 cm tall it has a nice dark green and growth wise its been on the leaves of the third node for a day and a half additional growth is seen there where its small branches come out. all leaves look healthy the stem is getting thicker and i can notice growth continuously. still no signs of sex. in my humble opinion my baby looks very healthy!! i went really close yesterday to see if it was growth between the branches and i moved the leaves just a bit and got a light but pungent sweet mj smell, hardly noticeable but there!! other than this i have one feminized Af Ak 47 which is on its third day and has already started to make the leafs of the second node. she has a much lighter green color i guess because she is more of an indica compared to the gws but she looks very healthy. I also have two feminized AF white dwarfs from buddha the one has a thick green leaves with some purple in it!! the stem of it is all purple to red and this colouring is also seen in the leafs but mixed with the green giving it a green gray purpulish colour which i like she seems healthy too. she is on her second day of life just as her sister. however sister WD had the seed stick to the leafs abit longer and has stunted its growth about a day. there is a light yellowing on the first leaves(the round ones) however the pointy leafs that are emerging between them have a nice green color abit more light than its sisters. i think she will start picking up from today! i had read when sowing AF to slightly scrape the seeds with some sand paper to make it easier for the seedling to break the seed well i know now what they meant i had a feminized ak which died because its leafs couldnt open in the seed. i mean it had slightly routed and was planted before all its siblings which were soaked and sowed all together but when it popped out of the soil its seed wouldnt come off so yesterday i tried to help it and tried to crack the shell of the seed so it could free itself. the leaves in the seed were pale white and by the evening she had perished. so i had to replace her and as seeing how i had two out 5 babies being injured one fatally by their own seed shell i decided to use the sand paper technique. couldnt find sand paper so used my girls nail file i scratched once on the seed and to my bad luck it scraped right through making a hole on the seed. i didnt like this but i immediately placed the seed in a wet with a mineral water with a ph of 6.0 towel and put it in a lightproof plastic bag and in a warm place. this morning to my amazement the seedling inside showed signs of life as it was all swollen and pushing on the shell so i think by the time i get home she will have popped right through i just hope the cuts on the shell dont injure it!! when the seedling is in the soil i water slightly just to keep the soil moisture three times a day, as they start growing i slow down on the watering. i water my gws now every two three days as i have all my babies less than a foot away from the cool tubed 400hps with blue spectrum that dries up the soil quite fast. im going to make a tea tomorrow with high N pelican guano and worm castings so i can feed my gws and maybe give a little to the one week olds to see if they like it less strength off course. will post back progress soon!!! peace and love

updating: i had probs with my exaust as it leaked the hot air back into my cabinet and was getting temps up high. so had to take it down and fix it from the beginning temps are back down but for some reason they still stay higher than what they were light on they range from 24 to 28 depending on daytime. when lights are off from 10:20 to 14:20 temps are around 19-20. i have a tank from which i manually release CO2 which my babes like especially the gws!! unfortunately while i was fixing my ducting on my exhaust one of my computer fans whilst running fell on my white dwarf it has damaged it but not much i packed soil abit around its stem to keep it straight and this morning it seemed still alive i hope this hit wasnt to its detriment (leaves were not damaged and it wasnt cut by the fan luckily). otherwise things are doing good my GWS which is two weeks old today is the biggest its clearly on its fourth node leaves the third node leaves are nice 5 leafs and from the first node side branches with 5leaves are comming out!!! still no signs of sex i can only comment on its health!! it seems to like the soil i planted it in as it grows continuously, new life is always emerging it must have 14-16 leafs and its stem is getting thicker and thicker!! then i have my AF AK feminized which is on its third node leafs now they are tiny at the moment and still building on its leafs of the second node as they are not fully complete color is good and growth is continuous. my AFWD fem is doing well still on its second node leafs with tinier than the ak's third node leafs but has a nice color and is growing too. on my other WD i am waiting to see how it goes after the hit it received but its colour is good. the only thing abit troubling is that on the tip of its leafs i see a slight yellowing which i cant explain. this was the one i had some probs with as the seed had stuck to the leafs and they were stressed by trying to release themselves from the seed shell. otherwise the seedling that i cracked is still underground and hasnt popped through the soil. i have been watering with a mineral water with a ph of 6.0 and on saturday i gave my babies a first run with a tea. i placed two table spoons of worm castings and two of high N pelecan guano in a litre of water mixed and left an air stone in aerating the mixture. then i used 1 to 5 tea to mineral water and watered all my babies. the gws and the AK definetely liked it and the others just seemed to grow normally. i had a humidifier but i removed due to temperature increases. thus i have humidity ranging from 42 to 15%. i will place some plastic cups with water in the room and water more often the non mj plants in the room to increase it any other ideas??

got temps back under control my room seems to work efficiently now i have day temps from 24 to 26 and night still at 19-20 which is good. i removed the strongest oscillating fan as it was mixing the hot air above the lamp with the cool air under it giving the room a uniform temperature which was higher than what i wanted!! i placed some plastic cups with water and left two bottles of water with the top off and this morning i had a humidity of 67%. I SAW SEX or at least i think i did!! the GWS showed me its sex and its YES A GIRL and i love girls!! out of the hole plant i saw 1 pistil with a white hair coming out of it hurray!! now from the good news to the bad news my seed which i used the nail file on and that had shown signs of life even though i had punctured a small hole in the seed died!!! i watered it abit and the water exposed the shell i took a careful look at it and realized there were no roots!! no roots meant no life so i i took it out and it had gone rotten inside!! i decided not to plant another baby in its place and instead after a week or two plant a feminized NYC DIESEL which i will lst and veg until my AF babies finish when i will put it to flower i think a month and a half of vegging will give it a good size to enter flowering and give me a good yield. does anyone have an idea if in an 8.5sq.ft area i could scrog two plants after a month and a half vegging?? anyways to get back to progress the WD that was injured and that most probably got a nute burn from the tea i gave them is showing healthier and as if it is picking up today after i flushed it yesterday!! otherwise my AK is doing real well underway for its third set of leafs as well as the other WD so comming harvest day i will have a Great white shark a AK47 and 2 White dwarfs the great white being a full week older!! im going to water today only with water and give them a tea next time i water but not to the nute burned WD which will be flushed again!! i forgot to say that my cabinet is 0.8x1x2 in meters depth length and height and dressed with mylar on the inside it has two air intakes both with 10cm diameters one with a computer fan forcing air flow and the other just as a passive intake i have a 175m3/h duct fan which pulls air from the top of the room through the cool tube and out through the carbon filter.

when i grew mine i found that leaving a week longer than the seed co suggested to be perfect. mine grew for 10 weeks from seed. and i smoked them in about 2 lol.

i try my best!! the gws is supposed to need 8 weeks!!

when i grew mine i found that leaving a week longer than the seed co suggested to be perfect. mine grew for 10 weeks from seed. and i smoked them in about 2 lol.

when we get there we see which is the best choice if we feel it can go longer il let her!!! i know what u mean i go through bud like crazy too i have 4 babies i expect 120g dried about an ounce a plant and im starting to worry it wont be enough till my second harvest!!

this 4 now!! update 2morow!!

i have a prob my girlfriend asked me a week ago to save her basil plant!! the basil was located above the kitchen sink and in front of a window it didnt get much light so i moved it my room!! as i dont have a good relation with that side of the house i had never noticed the little flies that were roaming on the basils soil!! so i only noticed a day after i had the infected planted in my room!! i took it immediately out i tried to kill as many flies in my room as i could and after and hour or two i didnt see any other flies!! for a week and a half i was fine no flies in sight!! then yesterday i get back from work and open my room and the gws pot is full of these damn flies!! i was smoking a j and blew the smoke on the soil and flies started flying all around!! i killed as many as i could but im sure thats not enough!! after researching abit i have decided to follow the following steps to remove the tiny flies what do you guys think?? i will use a vacum cleaner to remove top part of the soil and any flies maybe il remove top 5cm then spray the soil with a tobacco liquid(place tobacco in water and alcohol for 24 hrs) to kill any remaining life and then place new soil ontop!! is the nicotine solution deadly for my babies?? any other better way to remove these insects??

sounds like you have fungus gnats. i get them when i grow in miracle grow soil. i really havnt had a lot of luck killing them all cause of the eggs in the soil. those little suckers will chow down on your root system i beleive. get some of those yellow sticky strips and that will get some of them but not the eggs. im going with sunshine mix next time, but will probly still get them.

possibly to help with humidity, if your temps are a little high, you could take a gallon milk jug about 3/4 full of water, put in the freezer. when frozen place in a shallow pan or something to catch the condensation as it drips. place in front of your oscillating fan. if you have a couple of jugs,when you take 1 out put the next one in the freezer.

thanks bro!! i have temp and humidity back under control as you can see in the pics temp around 25 and humidity 37% and that was two days after watering so i think i have these two elements sorted out!! thanks for the good words about my grow!! il try the technique i described (removing soil/ spraying with nicotine solution) and il post back on this!!

i have been researching all day on how to get those damn gnats out of my room so i havent posted progress i will now but for a while before going back to the damn gnat prob!! see how a good will gesture ended up with bad consequences arghh!!! ok so i opened my room yesterday and befor noticing them damn gnats i was shocked at the growth i saw in essence!! she had just exploded compared to the day before so im looking real forward on looking at her progress tonight when i get back home!! she has pistils all over with white hairs coming out everywhere!! the ak47 had good growth too shes been picking up alot last days!! and then to my WD i will name the one injured by fan and shell "hope" and the other that was fine il name "grace" as grace slick jefferson airplane vocalist as i love her hehehe!! both hope and grace are doing fine grace is a day or two more ahead than hope. hope has been picking up quickly showing great signs of recovery from her probs!! i think the yellow tip will be gone after the next flushing/watering and them from there pick up even more!! this gnat problem if not solved will create me a great set back as i dont want to start new babies and have their soil infested too!! so if i dont deal efficiently with them bastards i will just wait till harvest and clean the whole room pots throw old soil out and start clean and new!! this will however put back my perpetual harvest and breeding plans i have made for the future!! i stumbled upon a paper stating that coffee can be used during watering and that it kills insects does anyone know if this is true and if its harmful for my babies??

well i drink coffee, i used some coffee grounds in my bins that i kept nightcrawlers in ( makes them real lively for fishing), even Robin Quivers does coffee enimas. but im not to sure what it will do to your plants. im sure youll research before trying, but if not just try it on only 1 to see what happens.

ok so here are some pics!! i put some beer in a small pan and left it in the room as i heard it acts as trap!! il apply the nicotine brew tomorrow and i hope everything goes well!! otherwise things are looking good the only thing that i dont like is that i see a slight curling of the edge of the leaves without them being yellow at all though what do you think? u can also see the slight yellowing on the tip of hope but besides that i think shes doing fine! enjoy the pics!!

are you giving hope nutes already? that small one with the burnt tip. i usually wait until a little bigger for nutes.

i have given them one tea up to today otherwise only watering today its time for their second tea(i think)!! but i use a mineral water which i think has a slight ppm but im not sure how much!! i will not give hope tea i will only water her!! i think the tea stunted both hope and grace a day at least so il be flushing hope and just water grace!!

when is flowering considered to have started?? once you get preflowers or later down the cycle?? essence has preflowers everywhere !!!

when you get the preflowers it means that the plant is mature enough and ready for the 12/12 light cycle. even though you can go to 12/12 anytime the longer you veg the bigger the plant and more yield. its not really flowering until you change the light cycle.

yeah i was just asking so i know when to start the bloom formula i have!! cellmax pk 14 13 bloom formula!! but as they are auto flowering there will be no light change!! so i guess il start from monday with feeding!! thanks bro!!
