The world's biggest bud...

Nice job OP. That's very impressive.

But, like with most tangible objects, guys tend to think bigger is better.

I have found over the years, quality factors in more than size or quantity.

I hope it's a hell of a smoke brother!

^^^^ True!

I have a couple of Oz of chernobyl for my choicest smoke at the moment....that wasn't a massive yielder, but made up for it in every other way :)

I should explain that this "size" thing comes from my very first visit to Amsterdam, 15 odd years ago...before I'd grown myself. I went to the weed museum, and saw the plants they had there. They were beautiful...perfect metre tall plants with what looked like pineapples on the top...ever since then I've wanted to grow something like that myself..
These were old school genetics, so probably sativa heavy crosses...

lovely buds all!

here is a fat bud i grew

not the biggest but it was from a plant that was less than 2 feet tall, so in a scale sense it is huge lol

sativa heavy hybrids ftw!

Well laugh if you want I guess... I can't put up pics right now to prove it 8 in at the top and about 3ft long till they start branching...since they are landrace they don't stop growing or stretching till harvest, I top at about 16 weeks and the whole thing will swell till harvest, somewhere on riu I put up a pic B166ER420 is possibly the only one around to have seen it. And its not the best quality, landrace mexican bud..that pic was taken at 22 weeks I think....maybe I'll find a link....or get me a photobucket or something soon.

Anyway I wasn't trying to take away from the other pic they are both looking real nice

My top colas get about 8inches in diameter. I think sativa dominants are required to get huge buds

It's the indica dominant buds that swell up and get really fat. The sativas are usually tall and lanky. How do you grow 8 inch diameter colas and not know this lol? Anyway thanks for liking the pic.

Well I disagree. The other pics were sativas.. weight might be closer but sativas are always bigger, if it grows an inch on a good day every day for 22 weeks plus veg, why would it not be huge. Indicas are notoriously slow growers and the "stretch" is over in 2 weeks then they fatten for a another 2 months... my sativas take longer to flower than most even have their plants alive growing wider every day.....but like I said weight is different the sativas I have are quite stringy, grinspoon like.....but seriously everyone knows sativas get bigger. Its basic math, inch a day for up to 6 months of flower lol. But yea I do 12/12 from seed and they end up 5ft tall with heavy training, I don't top till 16 weeks so the main cola instead of growing vertically grows outwards but obviously doesn't have the time and ability to start more colas.....maybe you should try growing some real sativas before talking

Grandpa has an 8 incher there approx. Only a monster outdoor plant will give you that. And your right most likely sativa dom, long leafy cola, hope that makes you feel better:)

Another indoor grower showing his outdoor experience. Under the right conditions you can do either. Just for a little FYI, how I determine my weight of fresh bud is I simply divide my wet weight by five, what is left is your dry weight. Basically using 20% moisture as a finish moisture content

Id like to see some pics rather than do some of your math.

Just a quick update...after drying for a week or so I weighed the bud and it came out at 53g. Almost 2Oz...if you round it up!
Total harvest of 155g from the one plant. Shame it isn't primo quality bud, not bad, but nothing compared to my chernobyl :( Might make some gumby with a couple of Oz of it actually, after successfully making my first batch from some offcuts the other day. Got 3g of pretty decent bubble off just a couple of handfuls of sticks, leaf and popcorn. I'm converted...no more iso or butane for me.

Daaaamn that's crazy. From the first pic it looked like some primo shit. It just goes to show a point that I mentioned a little while ago-- bud looks its very best right before the chop when its alive, or right after its been cut.

Still, great job tho man
