Need help with purple bud !!!

Lowering temps to cause purple = stress..... why would you want to do that..

Hey man im new im going thru all the threads and all say lower temp at night time . But lookin for.other suggestion

some people want to "fake" purple buds. I personally dont recommend it myself. I like to grow at a constant 75 throughout my grow. But some people want that "purple" for resale and bag appeal, its just a fad thing among some people. If i got purple buds great, but i wouldnt stress my plant in order to get them. But if he wants to have purple showing and his phenotype isnt dominate to do so, lowering temps is one way to try and achieve it

Using it to affect taste and smell is speculation and there are many people who will agree that it does add a bit of a light sweetness to the buds, i'd even be geared more towards saying this is true as i've noticed a slight difference in grows i used molasses in. But the real reason that people use molasses in their grows is because it "feeds the soil" the natural sugars in the molasses break down the nutrients in your soil to a level that the microbes and healthy bacteria in the soil can consume which lets your plants uptake these nutrients much easier

dont you already have this process going when you are using a fish and squid emulsion?? as well as many other possible choices. same idea? or different?

You don't do it on purpose, but when you grow outdoors some strains will show a little purple due to cooler temps. It just happens.

I believe what the molasses provides is the carbohydrates from the natural sugars which is what feeds the micro organisms in the soil. If fish emulsions and the likes do this as well i've just never heard or read that they do but you may be right

aha we are both very right..it also says something about squid providing a high polysaccharide content and upon looking that up it is long carbohydrate materials http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polysaccharide ..so good call on the carbs man lol

I would never take any plant to stress level cold, but you should aim for a fluctuation of temp, from day to night or lights on/lights off.
