Fox huh. Not even worth my watching. The only place I ever hear of it now is on this site. Last time I saw Fox it was just way too tainted for my liking as is most media.

It is wise to watch FOX. That is a perfect way to discover what the right will be spouting as their own observations the next day. Watching Fox is how I prepare counter arguments a day in advance.

Obama said it would lower premiums by 3000% and we could keep our current plan. I guess neither FOX nor Obama actually read it. Some of the older doctors really are retiring over frustration with HITECH part of the bill. Making them get on a computer has seriously cut into their actual patient care time. Those guys were on their way out in a few years anyway, this just sped things up. Other doctors are just selling their practices to the hospitals because they can bill at such a higher rate, guarantee salaries and offer less hours.
Solo practices are a thing of the past. Welcome to franchise medicine.

Insurance started out as a protection racket and still is. Now I'm gonna have to pay Vinnie and Sal cause if I get a tumor they gonna make the Doc. take it out or else. Another Racket that will become more and more crooked. Like I said elsewhere we don't even own our own bodies now, they belong to the government.

They have VERY few rights according to the NDAA and it's provisions for terrorists. As a matter of fact, neither do you if you fall under any of the provisions.

I have to disagree with that one. With my wife in the radiology field, and talking to doctors every day.....this is not true.
Radiologists will have guidelines for pricing depending on what kind of read it is. And those prices are less than what they're charging now.

does your wife's radiologist bill for his services, or is the hospital doing this for him. I have yet to see a radiologist that works strictly on salary, almost no specialists do, I was speaking mostly of the GPs or Internists. It will be a sad day when hospitals swallow up the specialists too.
Also, ask your wife about teleradiologists and why this is gaining in popularity, they are paid more reading for the hospital than reading for the clinic, even if it's the same. Even sitting in the same chair, on the same PACs system. It's a mess.

To me watching fox would be like having a really nice storage building that I could put all kinds of kool things in - stereos, computers, a nice boat - and instead filling it up completely with elephant shit.

You have a problem with free enterprise? I don't recall Obama claiming that premiums would drop by 3000 percent. And for the most part we can keep our plans, in other words, government will not force us to relinquish them.
The way MSNBC,CNN,ABC,CBS, etc. slants news to the left doesn't bother me because we all expect it.
Fox News with many of their opinion programs do the same thing.
The reason I watch a little of all of them is to get the stories one or the other sides fail to report on, that's where the real bias lies on both sides.

I love free enterprise, the medical community is under no such illusion we are allowed to practice this.

It is good to check them out that way I can only stomach so much though. So usually I stay away from them all. Ocassionally I read a headline or check a news link.

Because "they all do it" that makes everything balance out right? One side pulls to the right but the ones that pull to the left leaves us well rounded.
Except that it does not nor will you find that the left is as egregious in its actions as the right. Fox doesn't even inhabit the same universe as reality yet they lead the charge, set the stage and arrange the assaults on what is real.
The opinion commentary on both sides is rather sickening IMO.

She's in teleradiology.
Hospitals save money by paying offsite rads instead of having to keep radiologists on staff.
Hospitals sign contracts for the pricing of the reads, a different amount for a different kind of read and turnaround time desired. If it's life and death, it will be read right away...and the hospital will pay more than if it can be read in 2 hours from now.
The rads receive a salary+commission based on how many and which kind of reads they do per shift. They also can work anywhere they are able to receive highspeed internet. You can work for a Cali company, yet live in New York. Most work out of their homes, while some have an office.
Instead of having multiple radiologists on staff in case of needing multiple reads at once, they outsource it to a private company. An offsite Telerad company working with multiple hospitals at the same time saves every hospital that they work with money. But, if I'm in a bus crash in the middle of nowhere, I hope the podunk hospital they take me to is set up for telerad. Because what will happen when 4 people have head injuries and need reads RIGHT NOW and there's only one rad on site.
If you're not familiar with Teleradiology, look it up. It's pretty cool how it works.

You're missing the whole point, like I've said, the opinion commentary on both sides is ridiculously partisan.
I watch the actual news portions of a few of them to get the stories the other side will not report on, then I do my own research.
But if it makes you feel better to say Fox is worse than MSNBC, have at it, doesn't matter to me!

We can only hope that they shed light on the debt, but I am not holding my breath. This is probably just pandering to the right since the right has a fake conservative as their nominee.
