Yeah. I still haven't taken all of the plastic down. Damn I'm lazy. Kind of pissed because i just did all that wiring and hung the lights and run the ducting and shit...now it's all gotta come down and then be put back up in a new house. Plus this time around I need to build a legit wall and put a legit door in.

Yeah. Well if I end up getting the house we saw last night...I'm going to need an electrician since the breaker box isnt so close to the garage i'll be building the room in. If anyone here is an electrician and also MMJ patient lemme know if you want to make some money.

I gotcha covered, I put in a sub panel just for my grow room. 20 amp lines and all. I also have an extra sub panel and the 20 fuses...

Well looks like I won't be able to get out of the lease here without getting sued now....so i definitely need an electrician to come buy and legit run some 240 to a spare bedroom of mine. I'm moving the shit out of the garage and into the house where its out of site from the neighborhood. If anyone wants to make some money let me know...i'll cover all the supplies and throw you whatever you want for doing it...it just has to be up to code however its done.

I have a friend who is a pro electrician. He is trustworthy and agrees with our MMJ laws. If you need a licensed pro shoot me a PM and I will hook you up with him. He's in Rancho Cucamonga.

I'm going to be cultivating micro algae for nutraceutical/biodiesel reasons, so I'll need a few photobioreactors which use around 10k watts in total. You guys should look into algae as a superfood. Astaxanthin and Spirulina will help keep you at peak health.

Read the following comment...
"I feel your pain man!! I was wondering what to tell an electrician that I am gonna do....in order to have him wire my shit right. Someone told me to tell him a I was a potter...makin' clay pots and am going to have a kiln installed soon come to fire my personal creations. I dunno, might work. Anyone know what will use the same power, roughly, as a grow op??? What can one tell the electricians?!?!?!?!?!?!?"

I was responding to this post, specifically the part about what excuse to use, so as to not arouse any suspicion.

Just buy the boxes you need at lowes and get the elect to come over and install, tell them you parents are coming in with their motor home and your dad sent you the boxes to have insttalled to power it up while they are there.

You could always if you get desperate enough.. haul all your plants and grow equipment/materials out of the room. Put them in another room in your home or if that is not an option, rent a Uhaul and store them there till the job is done.

Call any electrician and tell him you need a 240v outlet with a 30-50amp fuse installed (depends on how many lights you want to run), and pay him to wire 8ga 3wire Romex Cable from the Box to the room in question and add that outlet. I had an electrician wire me up exactly like that. I bought the Romex cable and fuse on Ebay cheap. He wired the 8ga wire to one of these.. Light Controller Best Investment I ever made. I can now run up to 8 100w ballasts all at 240V. Was like "Bow-chicka-wow-wow! Boohya bitch!".. when it was all done.

Ya can't go wrong with a light controller. There's a regular 120v power chord that comes out. You plug that chord into a timer and when the timer comes on, BOOM LET THERE BE LIGHT!! The controller fires up and it's bright as hell. When it goes off.. Darkness. The biggest benefit you get from this type of setup besides having your own personal Sun.. the outlet you plug the cord/timer in that triggers the lights to go on should be on a power strip that you also plug your fans into. This way if your fans fail because of tripping a breaker on the regular outlet, the relay shuts your lights off at the same time. Safety!! So you cant skortch your plants to hell. It's a win win.

Here's what mine looked like the day of installation.. this was before I added the fans all plugged into a powerstrip. Notice the timer if plugged into a standard 120v outlet and the light controller's relay cable right into the timer. In the photo I only have 2 ballasts plugged in. I have since upgraded!! Because I can. With this setup you can add and add and add-

Worth Every Penny!!

Light controller- MLC-8X $125
50amp Breaker- $15
Romex Cable 60ft- $80
Electrician- $300
Standard Appliance Timer-$10
Total $530 <-- that's like one plant at harvest. hahaa.

I had an electrician come out and do the wiring for me in the new room. He knew what it was before he even got to the house as this wasn't the first time he's wired a grow so he was cool about it. Would have done it myself but figured by having him do it everything should be up to code.

And yeah I already have a CAP light controller....but i have the 4X since my ballasts are the lumatek 600W dual ballasts...so 4 ballasts is still 8 lights for me. Mine has the time installed into the controller through...so that 120V trigger cable just goes into constant power. If the built in timer was to fail i could always use an external one which is nice. This time around I installed an actual 3 prong 240v cord into my controller instead of hard wiring it...and also installed a 3 prong 240V outlet. Just makes everything look much cleaner in my opinion. I'll shoot a picture up here tomorrow after i get the rest of my ducting done and get the light controller and my CO2 all set up. Just got done modifying a peice of plywood to mount my intakes and exhausts too tonight and got that in the window...now i need a blackout curtain since i cant shut the blinds anymore.

Edit.....that romex isnt up to code. It can only be used if its being ran inside walls. Anything exterior should be seperate peices of thhn ran in conduit. The police offer that dropped by the other night told me that though they couldnt do anything because i was a legal mmj patient....that if the police department wants to fuck you they will just call code enforcement out to your house and fine the fuck out of you for your electric. Might want to think about re-wiring your rig.
