Age of consent - Probably one of the oddest set of laws the US has. You can have sex at 14-18 depending on the state you live in, but until you're 18, you can only sleep with people who are no more than 2 years older.

So if a 17 year old girl seeks out and has sex with a 20 year old guy consentually...he goes to prison for statutory rape.

But once we're passed 18, that gap doesn't matter anymore. So a 7 year difference is no big deal in marriage.

It makes no sense to me, but then neither does requiring a seatbelt, but not a motorcycle helmet...allowing people to join the military and vote and be porn stars at 18, but can't have a beer until you're 21.

We don't make a lot of sense here.

Or a pretty 22 year old female can have sex with a 14 year old boy, get no jail time because "she's a good person," where as a 22 year old man has sex with a 14 year old girl and he is a monster and given a lengthy prison sentence, even the girl consented and sought him out. Not saying statutory rape is ok, but let's be fucking balanced. It's sick, whether you're male or female. Just like Monica Bellucci doing nude full nudity with that kid over in Italy, yet it's ok. Sick, twisted fucks making movies over there
