Day 40 of Flowering. This is my Dutch Passion Blueberry Fem, i'm growing it now at the same time as a TH Seeds Buku, i knew the buku was prone to hermi but hadn't heard that about the BB but i keep them both when they showed hermi flowers, the buku only had two, and i think i found 4 or 5 on the bb but thats over the couse of about two weeks. haven't seen any more male flowers in about two weeks, i'm only growing two plants and couldn't afford to just chop them and start again would have lost all my wife's meds. You guys really think this plant looks like it belongs in the trash?

according to some of the internet badasses on here they do ( which leads me to believe they dont even grow, because after putting 8-12 weeks into a plant its not a easy task to throw it away)

Those plants looks sweet and hell no they don't look like trash. I don't mind picking sacs off my plant, if I have to. Some mj plants herm to the degree that that is almost impossible though.

yeah in rare cases you get a really high amount of male flowers and they arent controlable by picking off, at that point your losing bud production for flower production and its not worth contaminating your other plants. but in most cases its like PrezDickie's case where theres only a couple.

If I'm growing 20-30 plants then 2 hermie hell yeah I'm chopping them up before it ruins anything else..

Now if I'm growing 1-2 plants then why would I chop it as anybud would good fuc a couple seeds..

But its a big difference between 30 And 2 don't u think?..
would u let a couple hermies ruin your whole 30 plant garden?

like Darwin stated, it depends on how significant the hermie is, if its poping 1-5 flowers then no i wouldnt chop it, most of the pollen would get stuck in that area and probally not ruin the entire crop. thats me though.

Yeah that's you no offense... I had 1 hermie that threw out a couple male flowers and seeded about 10 girls in a tent after that any hermie I see gets the axe!

i never said you were a cash cropper. 30 plants is alot for me, i only smoke 1-2 times a day. 1 joint lasts me and my wife the whole day if its decent weed.

I enjoy variety as well, thats why i started growing. sick of having to "take what you can get" but if your not selling it to a dispensery (which they expect sensimilia) then i just dont see why a few seeds is a big deal. but that again is me, other people have thier own perspectives on it and frankly i could care less, wish i had all the buds people threw away due to just a couple seeds, i would have my variety volume without even having to grow. im not spoiled (yet) only been growing a short time so i dont mind picking a few seeds out.

im sure you dont throw it away......if you do then ill safely call you a dipshit, edibles, hash, tincture.........i mean these products dont need fully ripened bud to create a good outcome, i dont even throw my trim away lol. im saving up so i can make a nice 1 lb brick of some primo quality hashish.

Even if you cover a female plant in hermie pollen you only get about 1/4 the seeds that you would have had you covered that same plant in regular male pollen...I have made my own fem seeds on purpose so I know...lol. Any Cannabis plant can hermie. It is what makes them so hard to kill off...they won't allow it. Also, just because a plant hermies that doesn't mean anything...like if oyu have a small light leak in your tent and it causes a hermie...there is no need to throw out the clones you have taken or anything like that...there is nothing wrong with the plant...only your space...Even a clone for a hermie plant won't automatically hermie, given that you have fixed what was causing the stress in the first place...most of the strains I have started from one fem seed and I don't keep moms I just take a clone, clone the resulting plant and veg that clone and flower the donor plant...anyway, I have a few different strains i do this with and every once in awhile one of the strains would hermie...just one out of the 2 and just every once in awhile...but I figured it out...one of the strains is sensitive to light during it's dark period, and another strain is not at all sensitive...and sometimes the sensitive one gets blocked and there is no issue...I am going to just fix the tent...but the fact that every once in awhile I get 6-8 fem seeds is fine by me...I mean hell I have to use spray on all the other plants to get them to. But I just love the plant so much...she grows great, yields great, and smokes great...so seems to me if I don't want her to hermie I would just keep her from getting any light during the dark time...not kill off the strain I have...lol. And what is funny is that the 2 strains I am mainly talking about here...the one that hermies with light and then the other that hermies with nothing! You can stress it to pieces and it won't hermie..which is good because she is easily stressed, anyway she also doesn't mind light leaks...anyway they are both from the same breeder...they are both awesome...I am just lazy...
Some plants can hermie from nute stress...from getting windblown, staying too dry, staying too wet...
There is too much room there for it to have been my error, for me to blame the breeder, or the plant...and I think everyone should think of this...
I mean if as soon as the plant shows sex it consistently just is a hermie from the start, then I would stop growing it...but if I can take a clone of it and give it better care somehow than the first plant received then I won't kill the clone, or even the hermie itself...A good plant that one day gets a couple of pollen sacks is not a big deal..having a henetically hermie plant that is just as much female as male is genetics...so if you find 10 or fewer pollen sacks then it is your fault...a genetic hermie has nearly as many pollen sacks as hairs they look like male plants that have a few hairs and they end up being nothing but seeds..these should be killed and the plant not grown again...but what most people get is grower error...simply because it is 1 or 2 pollen sacks...not 200....lol

my hatred of hermaphrodites stem from them ruining purely good sensimilla. some hermaphrodites produce dank buds, others will ruin an entire crop. my goal is always sensi unless i am breeding for seeds, in any case i would never use a hermaphrodite for anyway.

i'm a cash-cropper ,the more the merrier,lol,i dont gro 30 i do 40 or more and i do well.and i'm cheaper than a dispensary.once u get past the novice stages mind should expand.sittin on a pound and more drying,got the dankest weed,hope this encourages someone,,, and to conclude about 10 had hermies at first stages of flowering,picked them off then they usually stop,got this crop here ,only a few seeds total.lol.rdr.
